In tears...thanks to MBNA!

I have just called MBNA to advise them of my forthcoming CCCS appointment.
I have already made a arrangement with MBNA about 2 months ago which I now can't pay. I am freelance and my invoices are rarely paid on time which is the main reason for getting into this mess.

My 'account manager' has just told me I have wasted their time as I am now getting CCCS involved! I told her I was not wasting her time as she was simply doing her job which involves sorting out my account problems...!

What to do now...the debt is massive £22k and is now (as i've been rudely informed) will be sold off to a DCA...it'll be sold off before my CCCS appointment next week...I am in tears now and am feeling absolutely dreadful.

Is there anyone out there who can offer any kind of support...I feel so alone.Thankyou xx

MBNA are well known for being a nasty bunch of wuckfits, so please don't let them upset you. You've done the right thing going to the CCCS.

:grouphug: For you at the minute xxxx

Sorry they were so horrible to you.

I would wait until you hear from a DCA. Until you hear from them there is not a lot you can do. When you do simply inform them that you are having your meeting with the CCCS and they will be contacted shortly with regards to the outcome etc.

Try not to worry too much, you have at least taken the step and have an apopintment with CCCS.

    Sorry im not much help.

When debts are sold to debt collection agencies the interest and charges usually stop. So it could be a really good thing ;)

    Really DO NOT WORRY!

DCA's tend to be better to deal with than those they buy the debts off. You have done the right thing by calling CCCS. Things are going to get much better for you shortly, I'm sure.

Aww you poor thing! Really there are some nasty people out there!!!

As everyone else has said, just tell them that your appointment has been made. It really doesn't matter who the debt is with CCCS will still be able to help you. Also it's more than likely just a scare tactic (as I said nasty).

RBS 'passed' my debt to a collection agency and it too was £22,000. They passed it 2 days before my IVA went through and it really made no difference at all!

Chin up there, you're doing the right thing.

MBNA are a nightmare  When I asked them to stop phoning me and put everything in wriiting they got quite shirty (with 2 ts!) with me to the point that I put the phone down on them. I never do that normally so they must haev got to me more than I thought :rotfl: But finally they have stopped calling and texting after I wrote 4 or 5 letters to them. They haven't accepted my DMP payments and have "threatened" to pass my account to a DCA which I'm no longer worried about - at least then the charges and interest should stop.

Good luck - it's worth writing to them to tell them not to phone you any more so they can't upset you like this. I found them a bunch of bullies - by far the worst of all my creditors to deal with.

Next time they ring and want to "go through security details" - just tell them you can't take calls as you're at work ;)
