Can you recommend anyone in particular then, Dooze? (even in PM)0 -
Bump to see if anything has been affected by the credit crunch.
Looking for the cheapest possible place for American Black Walnut Solid Wood Flooring 18mm thick will be fine but i wouldn't mind knowing the price for 20 and 21mm thicknesses.
Is it best to buy from UK or do you reckon i should buy elsewhere?
Maybe Howdens sell this brand?
Cheers for any help.0 -
Hi,
We have recently purchased engineered wood flooring from Carpenters of York. Having trawled the shops internet and Ebay they were the cheapest for good quality wood. We managed to get ours for £26.44/m2 (http://www.carpentersofyork.com/cgi-bin/carpo.cgi?Command=ShowFloorProduct&db_fpid=2557) but its gone back up to £52.88 now.
Its definately worth keeping an eye out for their specials. They will send out samples too and have a really good warehouse where you can go view all the boards.
Hope this helps

Well done on getting it that cheap Lou.
I'm hoping i can swipe myself a decent enough deal too.
I checked out their website but i dont see Solid Wood Walnut (which is what i have my eyes set on). They do the Engineered Wood Walnut but im not too keen on it.
Im glad you've put in as much research as me. I too have checked out eBay, Web etc.
The one thing i don't like about the UK is it's rip off prices so what i've tried doing is researching what the US prices are like. The problem is they deal is sq ft and not m2. Not a big problem.
All i want is an indication as to what the price differences between both countries. I've always had this thing where if i buy something, i'd like to pay close to the US equivalent.0 -
I think it's important to consider price vs. quality. You can find shops with lower or higher prices in general but if I were you I would choose a wood flooring product based on quality. Once I know exactly what I want I would try to find the shop that offers my chosen floor boards at the best price. Finally, I love the special offers. You can get quality products for even 50% less than the original price. This is a great way of saving money without loosing on quality. Check the special offers at realoakfloors.co.uk. Good luck with getting your perfect wood floor!0

If you're set on UK Flooring Direct, try waiting. Their "sale" prices fluctuates week to week.
Also, they do quite a generous QuidCo cashback, and if you search for discount codes, there's plenty of 10% off floating around. I remember one of them was FLOOR10, another was MVC10.0 -

It's worth checking out ukdiscountflooring.co.uk. They have a 18mm x 20mm wide oak at £20m2. In terms of solid walnut it is a rather soft wood and will mark easily.0
