thanks Rayday
have found a site that shows a lot of info to everyone else who is interested, after your golf you can take a peek yellow monkey
its www.theowl.com
but of course will log into quidco and check out how you have bought through the site you gave rayday - thanks
it seems dearer on the owl site so quidco looks cheaper,
hope it all helps, ciao for now MAZSealed Pot Challenge member 1525

Truecall device, stops all the unneccesary phone calls - my sanity has been restored and the peace in the house is truely priceless!:rotfl:0 -
Maz, yes I claimed the interest. There is a calculator on that guide some where. Each charge you have had you put into the calculator and it adds the interest on.
With regard to the Halifax. You'll see from my sig that I've managed to get 2 lots of bank charges from them. This really surprised me. I asked for my statements around April 2007, they didn't turn up until July/August 2007 and by that time the court case was going through and a hold put on claiming. Anyway this year I got the courage up (early June) to send them letter 1. As far as I was concerned I would simply get a letter saying go away claims are on hold but I wanted to get in the queue. Instead I got a letter for each account saying they were looking into it. I then got a letter for each one saying that they had reviewed my account and were offering the money due to financial difficulties. Now I never asked them to do this. I got the full amount due (waiting on one to be paid in this week actually) plus about an extra £300 on each one. I didn't ask for interest on these but I reckon they must have claimed it.
It is worth ringing customer relations on that case you have on hold and asking them to review it. I'm not sure what they took as financial difficulties but something worked.
Gemmzie, yes just go ahead and send letter 1. No need to request information when you already have it.
Ianmak, I'd deal with my own DDs.0 -
Right I've had enough now - just applied for a co-op current account due to A&L fantastic customer services....
Rang A&L to find out why I couldn't log into internet banking to be told it's down. Nothing was said about anything else. Phone banking worked so I assumed all would be ok...
Went to buy food and petrol at lunchtime - got to the post office to take money out (huge queue) and was eventually told CARD DECLINED (in front of everyone and very embarrassing since I know there is money in there). Cash point - declined.
Rang bank - sorry system is down. So I can't buy food or petrol???? Nothing we can do until it's up in 2-3 hours. So I can't use my debit card at all, anywhere? No sorry. So how am I meant to buy food then? It's inconvenient  but nothing we can do. How often does this happen? Not often. (Really not such a great answer - he never said it's the first time ever or anything like that!!!!)
Ok I'll look for another bank.
So basically the answer was tough and it's probably happened before.
So having wasted £1.20 parking fees, my whole lunch hour and now I have to pay again for parking and go again tomorrow (and get to two other places in one lunch hour) and been entirely humiliated in a busy post office - have applied for a co-op account.
Will at least spread my money out between banks from now on!!! Plus will then have room to jump ship if the whole Abbey/GE/A&L thing happens.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Great. I applied for a co-op current account (not premier or anything) with NO overdraft, and they have declined "due to information provided by Experian". :rolleyes:working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

We got that but then they sent an application through the post for a "cashminder" account which is there basic one. Not posted that off but its suitable for bankrupts just no cheque book.0

Hopefully they'll do that for me too. The website says for a cashminder account go into a branch (which would mean taking a day off work and paying £3.60 bus fare into town) or ring an 0845 number which is loads from a mobile
Have applied for a savings account so hopefully will at least be able to tuck away emergency money (if they approve that).
Can you remember where the list was of the linked banks? I think the only other bank I could go for (for an additional savings account) is hellifax who I never really liked before I got into debtworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Same here. Applied online through Quidco (Not sure if I'll get my 7 quid tho), and got turned down. A day after receiving the letter I went straight down to my local branch to apply for their Cashminder account and got accepted a coupla days ago. No cheque book or overdraft (thank goodness!), but you can have DDs and Standing Orders and a Visa Electron card.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430

Tesco have just bought themselves out not sure if that makes them independant or not yet but worth thinkign about in the future. Also I think ING are supposed to be good for savings but I have no idea who is behind them. Don't forget the good old fashioned Post Office with National savings again not sure who is with them. I opened up online an ISA with Yorkshire Bank they will take fairly low start ones and are good to take out if you need too.0 -
