  • Hi
I hope you dont mind me posting here. I am in the process of sorting out my DMP with CCCS and I've got a couple of questions.
    1) Does anyone know what address is for littlewoods catalouge? Can't seem to find it anywhere and want to make sure its sent to the right place.
    2) One of our creditors is Natwest bank. Do I send my letter to my branch or do they have a head office? Also could anyone tell me the correct address?
    3) Has anyone else had a loan and overdraft with Natwest? I rang to cancel all the direct debits and they let me apart from the loan one. Why would this be?
    many thanks
  • hello indebt. We originally sent letters to the branch. Eventually they will come from another department but you will see this on their correspondence.

Not sure about the loan DD as this didn't happen to us. Basically, hubby cancelled the direct debits as we had opened another bank account elsewhere. If there is no money going into the account, they can't take the loan payment anyway.

    :)

I have no idea what I'm talking about!
  • HI Indebt

I read somewhere that if the loan is the same Co as the bank account, you are not able to cancel the DD.

I am in the same boat as you. Have an OD with NatWest and a loan that comes out that account.

They know the siutation and we are trying to get them to accept the DMP, however, every month, they try and take the loan, it obvisouly bounces and they then have the great joy of charging me £38 for the pleasure plus extra interest!
The debt is therefore increasing monthly!!!

You would think common sense would prevail in such circumstances - obviously not!!

My plan is to go with the flow at the moment, and sooner or later, (hopefully) they will accept the DMP and then I will try and reclaim back the charges.

Looks like you will just have to ride this one out as I am pretty sure you will not be able, like me, to cancel the DD - sorry, not the answer I am sure you wanted, but hopefully they will accept your DMP and then you can claim back charges.

I have a loan and current account with Natwest and I have managed to cancel the Direct Debit. However, it says in the small print that they can set up a standing order so that when money goes in your account they can take it out without you knowing. Which they did. Grrr! Well I've got a new bank account now so there's no hope of them doing that again.

You have come to the right thread for support. Who are you doing your DMP with, and how far are you into it?

We're getting help through our local Law Center. Although with what we've got going out is more than whats coming in.

He was a bit slow on the ball because we went to him back in June!! He has asked us to exclude some outgoings as they wont consider a DMP if we're in the red. Is that true?

Also how does it work when you have a mortgage?

I used my online banking. Simply selected the direct debit concerned and hit the cancel button. However, if you have money available in your account they will take it via standing order anyway.
