Hello
Just a quick note to say, my Virgin broadband bill has just gone up to £25 from £17 which we have paid for ages. I do not want other services with them as they are rubbish to deal with. Phoned retentions was offered £10 for 6 months on size M dropping the speed for a couple of months as they say it will go back up in August. . Does anybody know if this is the best I can do? By the way, somebody was asking for the number for a BT line its 0800 052 0870.

Size M is the 2Mbit service. There are no plans on increasing the speed on 2Mbit.
If CS have told you this, it might be worth letting VM Support know in their Feedback newsgroup as they are meant to be telling CS not to tell people the 2Mbit is increasing in speed when it isn't. The L 4Mbit is increasing to 10Mbit.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Hi thanks for that, I now know not to take them up on that one. Had quite a day on the phone with customer support, I think I upset them and my password magically changed on my account, then had trouble with my email.had to phone back and get it reset.
They gave us no notice of this change in prices, tried to say it had been discounted in the past.0 -
Hi
Thanks for the posters who posted VM Retentions tel number:0800 052 0870 .
I've been with VM since they took over NTL (about 6 years now) and only get cable BB.
For the last 12-18 months, I've been on a reduced £10 a month cost for M BB, instead of £18.
In Jan this year, I renegotiated it for a further 6 months; told to call back in July for a further 6 months.
The CS I spoke to last week point blank refused, saying the best she can do was £16 a month if I signed for a further year, and I refused. She asked if I wanted to cancel there and then.(I don't!!!...I use this BB for work, from home, in my full time employment, so wouldn't be practical)
I've just phoned 0800 052 0870 retentions, and got straight through to a really helpful guy.
He's offered 6 months back on £10, if I sign up for e billing instead of a paper bill...suits me!:T I have to call back early next year to do the same again...made a note of this.
There are so many good deals on BB out there, I guess this is helping us, but at least I won't need to change at the moment. Oh, and I checked, I'm not in a new contract by doing this.
