Leaving Virgin Media BB and rejoining as a new customer

Is this possible?
Virgin Media have put my broadband up to £18 from the £10 that I could comfortably afford previously, I did call to try and get a better deal but ended up having to give them my one months cancellation notice which they accepted (I'm still keeping my phone line with them......for now
)
Anyway, I was wondering whether it's possible to rejoin virgin media as a new customer to give the cheaper price of broadband, and get my husband to take it out in his name. Will they accept this?
Secondly, I notice on quidco that you can get £100 cashback on all cable services through Virgin Media.....would this apply if I were to take out a new broadband contract?

Have you had any luck with this Brit Chick? I've got the same problem at the moment and was wondering if I could cancel and rejoin as a new customer for the £9/month bb.0

Myself, friends and family have all got offers extended / discounts applied even as recently as 10 days ago, simply phoning in going straight through the options to retentions (cancellations) and getting a deal they were happy with.
Getting broadband continued for £10 was a common offer.
XL TV, L Phone, L Broadband and 'free' caller display should be available for around £35, for £40 the phone increases to XL.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
You cannot rejoin as a new customer unless you sign up under a different name.0

Thanks PaulK, that's really handy to know, I'll have to try my negotiating skills! I don't really want to leave, I just want to get back to what I was paying before.0

Well that was pretty easy. I just phoned up and went through the options as if I was gonna cancel, got through to a guy and explained that it was too expensive for me, could I drop something to bring the price down and he got me the same deal I was on
BB- M
TV- M
Line rental and Talk unlimited
was paying £20, went up to £28.95, now got it down to £20.49 :T0 -

Yep if you hit someone in retentions that are down on their stats they will offer whatever they can at that time to keep you. One word of advice though, keep an eye on your bill and make sure they put you onto your new agreement.0

Yep I've had this problem-refused to believe I've been offered had someone else in the dept had offered.
Thinking about moving to Sky (Paul stop sniggering !!)
Anyone know when is "end of the month" for retentions -ie when people are pushing to hit targetI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
I would expect it is towards end of month as thats when targets etc are closed down on most providers. Personally having had dealing with NTL/ VM I would strongly suggest moving to Sky unless you like being messed about with billing issues etc as they still have not resolved basic issues that drove a lot of customers into the arms of other providers a long time ago.
Could even tap someone up for a referal if going to sky... if you know people already on it0 -
Actually you may have another option, will PM later on about it.0
