Got back from my hols today, is it sad to say I missed this place?:o

Had a lovely time and even managed to bring some money back with me. I was very DFW on hols which took me by surprise, seems this place is ingrained in me more than I thought.

So now I am back I feel I can now put 100% into my DFWing. I get paid on Weds so need to sit down and work through my budget. September's not good for us though as I have one lot of car tax  and three birthdays including hubbies. So need to do some wise buying........... with cashback of course lol.

What I really need to do is bring in some extra cash which can all be thrown at my debt as at the moment I am only doing minimum payments or slightly over. So tonights plan is to mooch on here and steal as many ideas as possible.

Have some bits to go on Ebay which I will get on this week and have a couple of other ideas but always room for more.

Really want to clear our MBNA card before Christmas as it is the bain of my life and has been for years. I know once it has gone it will be a huge mental milestone passed for us in respect of our debts.

Anyway must go and mooch and see whats been happening in my absence. Apologies in advance as I am rather motivated which will of course result in lots of mundane posts in my diary lol

    welcome home doodledo!!!

And it sounds as though you are wonderfully motivated. How much is left on the MBNA card?

Well the plan for tonight is to come up with some plan of action to clear this card and any ideas are gratefully received.

Just checked online and the balance is standing at £980.86.

Following on from the payment a day thread I am wondering if I can do something similar. Going to work out now days from now till christmas and how much it works out.

Blimey only 123 days till Xmas

It works out at just under £8 a day, so roughly £250 a month. Definately do-able in theory.

I am wondering whether to do a weekly payment rather than daily, I know I could put it in a pot till the end of the month but I know if I can see it in my bank account, even in a different account Ill be tempted to use it. Secondly less on the card means less interest.

Mmmmmmmmm might go and have a look at the payment a day thread for inspiration. Maybe everyday is better.

    Decisions decisions

You are able to pay online with MBNA aren't you, so you could do a daily payment if that is what you want to do - just means logging on every day!

Plus, MBNA update their balances much quicker than most so you can see that balance coming down quite quickly!

Ok right I'm going to go for it doing a payment a day. I may struggle the next couple of days as I have to put money from hols back in the bank which I can't do until Tuesday, but as soon as I can I will catch up.

Seems so much money and a little scary but to start 2009 without that poxy card would be truly fantastic and I have to keep that in my mind.

Going to put a little countdown in my sig for some inspiration.

Have got to grips with things tonight.

I have sorted out my diary and I am going to use this as a spending diary and I am going to put in everything I spend in there so I can see exactly where my pennies are going.

Also putting reminders for payments which need to be paid which aren't automated so I don't forget and incur charges etc.

I am also going to put in their a small to do list for each day to keep me focussed as I have a habit of drifting lol.
