Well what a week in the doodledo household.

My little girl has been very poorly bless her, after being poorly for several days decided it was time to take her to the docs, no wonder she felt crappy she had tonsilitus and an ear infection.

Docs gave her some antibiotics and they seem to be doing the trick she is much better and almost back to her old self.

Unfortunately her being poorly meant I got very little sleep for a week and this has resulted in me coming down with some yukky bug too. I had to spend 48 hours in bed where I just slept for England and much to my hubbys delight and my daughters amusement I have lost my voice. All i can manage is a little whisper lol.

So not much MSE has occurred here although it has meant I have spent no money and for the first time in months we had cash left at the end of the month, even if it was only a few quid lol.

Both our wages should have gone in today so need to sit down and look into budgets and holiday spends but not sure I am entirely up to that yet as still feel a little ropey but we shall see.

Happy Friday to anyone reading, enjoy the sunshine :D

Bit of a mixed day in the Doodledo house.

First good news - my little girl is loads better and back to sleeping through :T and I have just got back from fat club and had lost 4lbs :T

Bad news - I feel like poop still and have no voice still.

Scary news - hubby works for the police and last night was faced with a man pointing a gun at him. He had only popped out the front of the police station to give someone something and this drunked wan@@@ turns up and points a gun at him. Hubby said he truly thought his time was up.

The bloke then legged it and hubby decided to follow him so they didn't lose him whilst ringing the armed response.

Anyway to cut a long story short the bloke was arrested and the gun turned out to be a replica but obviously hubby didn't know this at the time.

Hubby rang me as he was walking back to the station and in the 17 years I have known him I have never ever heard him sound so scared or shook up it really knocked me and I felt like such a crap wife as I could barely speak to offer support.

Well just sitting down to tackle this months budget and good old Barclays have charged me for going over my overdraft so already £30 down.

The annoying this is if they hadn't taken their interest I wouldn't have gone overdrawn

    Anywhooooooo rant over lol

You are quite entitled to be  at the banks - it really pees me off that they can charge so much, for so little. I have this situation month in month out and would so love to be away from it.

Sorry to read about OH yesterday - and I am not surprised you feel inadequate. My OH had to help get down a dead body who had hung himself at work once, and on another occasion was first at the scene in an RTA and gave heart massage to someone who subsequently died......on both occasions I was bloody useless to him, and could only make endless cups of tea.

Just make it clear that you are there for him if he needs to rant, talk, cry and remember that the shock may emerge/re-emerge in a few days or weeks so if he seems ok one time, he might make up for it later on. Explain that you feel inadequate because you can't do anything to make it better but that this doesn't mean you don't care.

HTH, and that you feel better yourself soon xxx

    Cheers Hypno.

He is in bed at the mo as was on nights last night so will keep an eye on him when he gets up.

I do worry how this might effect him as it was just so unlike him when he spoke to me but then obviously not everyday you are faced with a gun and the idea you may be about to be murdered.

He will be offered counselling etc at work but I know its not his scene. I got up early this morning so I was downstairs when he came home, made him a cuppa and we managed to have a proper chat before my little girl got up so I am hoping that may have helped a bit.

 to Barclays lol. I would love to leave them but as we have lived in our overdraft for years I know as soon as we take our wages away they will ask for the overdraft back so at the moment its a catch 22 situation.

Obviously need to be upping the amount I put in my bills account though to cover this interest amount so will sort that out this month.

Well I am finally getting better. Ended up going to the docs as I lost my voice for 4 days much to hubbies delight and daughters amusement. Turns out I had Layrngitis.

Feeling slightly better now although still not 100%. Thankfully my little girl is over her tonsilitus and is back to her old self.

Not much debt busting happening here as any spare money is being put on side for holiday which is now only 9 sleeps away :D

Had a bit of a MSE moment last night. I booked a night at a hotel in Gatwick for the night before which includes parking. We didn't have to leave a deposit so I thought wonder if I could get it any cheaper. They were charging us £174 for a room for the night and 15 days parking.

After some mooching on the net I managed to find the same hotel and parking package for £117. I rang them up and said would they price match otherwise Ill just cancel and re book and they agreed :T so about half an hour on the net and one phone call I save us £57.

Quick catch up! I'm glad to hear your daughter is getting better (sorry about your throat though!), well done on the MSEing with the hotel and re the ironing - can you sort out the urgent ones and leave the others until it is cooler?
