I am pretty lucky in that DS and OH eat pretty much anything. DD is more fussy, but she now knows that if she doesn't eat what I make, then I am not eating anything else, so is expert at "picking things out" (which are generally then swiped off her plate by DS or OH pretty sharpish!).

Tonight we are having fish pie - made with those frozen "fish in sauce" portions.....easy peasy and yummy!!

God don't even mention onions. I love them but my hubby hates them with a passion. I always buy pasta sauce with the least bits but he always manages to find some onion and it will be the smallest bit ever.

I got him to try a mushroom once and it took him around 10 mins to chew, seriously it was painful. In the end he couldn't even swallow it  , it's known as the "mushroom" incident still several years later.

I think I am going to go down the farm shop get lots of veg not just the normal basic ones and start experimenting.

I used to make lovely vegetable kebabs so think they may well be tonights tea.

Mmmmmmmm Jelly comments aren't good. Similar to my little girl telling me last night not to lean on her bed whilst I read her story in case I broke it.

I am on weight watchers although have slipped a bit so thats another wagon I need to climb back on.

Mmmmm I like the sound of that I hadn't even thought of doing it that way. Those fish in sauces are dead cheap as well arent they. Do you just add some veg and then put mash and a bit of cheese on top and stick in the oven?

Yes, that is basically it! Those frozen fish things are pretty good value, and have a good amount of sauce in, so add some carrots, brocolli, peppers, whatever you have lying around..........I throw in a handful (small handful) of value frozen prawns as well, just to give it that hint of "no we are not skint really" if we have any in the freezer.

Whack it in the oven for an hour and one fabby fish pie!!! Frozen peas and sweetcorn are an ideal accompanyment :D

Right just got back from first weeks £30 budget shop and gone slightly over lol so not a good start. Although in theory some of the frozen stuff I bought will do more than one meal so will be used up next week as well.

I spent £25.25 in Iceland and then £5.26 at the farm shop, so a whopping 51p over. Damn those oranges.

So no excuses now I have enough for a different meal for us every night and packed lunches. If you hear me mention M&S sarnies or Takeaways please feel free to abuse me.
