Hi all
As there are enough sources to sink a battle ship, if anyone has come across reports etc on the ethical issues with organ donation - pros and cons, I would be grateful for a steer.
Cheers
chev
Look up ACLT in the Uk and bAME organisation set up about organ donation for minority groups it is linked to Anthony Nolan too There will be some reporters published soon as there is a push by ddept of health called transplantation 2020 might be worth a google of that tooStart info Dec11

thanks for understanding Brizzle. Long white cloud has been rocked by Lundy's conviction being quashed by the privy council overnight. Wow.
Other than that we are apparently growing as a population more slowly now. And not much else.
missrir thanks for those suggestions I will give them a look.
trying to do a bit of housework today, as DS2 has a friend coming over from school. timing couldn't be worse for me as am trying to do another assignment, but they have been trying to sort this out all last term, so will just have to grin and bear it.

It is pretty frustrating actually. It cost me an xmas job this week.
To explain I had got an interview for xmas work, but they wanted me to start this month, when I have two major piece of work and 1 exam to prep for. Not these courses have cost me $1500 to do (I pay this back after I finish but even so). I 'might' have earned this much, but it would still have meant that I would have to redo it if I failed them. So I had to turn it down.
I think both the bosses and me were disappointed!
I have one more stats assignment to do, and then I will have to forget about it for a week whilst I try and get the english essay in. Going to be next to impossible, but I just can't handle doing bits of both like I used to.

Ok I have a dilemma.
First of all I am a book hoader. I HATE giving away my books. And I do reread them quite regularly.
But now we are at the point where my DS's have books that they have grown out of, and I don't WANT to give their books away either.
BUT we have no space to store stuff in this too small house. Well actually that isn't true. There is 'stuff' in the room down stairs that is OH, and he can't seem to organise it either.
Then i have several LARGE boxes of clothes (we are talking about 200 items at least of adult clothing, and maybe the same of kids), that I either bought on ebay (when I thought I could make a living buying in bulk and selling individual HAHA), or are stuff the DS have outgrown. I am meant to be be selling it, but it takes sooooooo long and there are so many demands on my time.
But when I think I really SHOULD take it to the Salvation Army, I just get upset at all the money I wouldn't get by just giving it away. On the other hand it would free up a lot of space in my bedroom if I did just take it.
Same with the kids books....
So my question is, does decluttering REALLY help with mood and stress? And how do you get started? And how do you motivate an OH that seems to want to sleep all the time when not at work?:(

Oh yes, decluttering is Emotional soul cleansing
You get this super smug feeling and even if no one notices you still get this little smile
The trick is not to fill the space back up
Can you sell the clothes in bulk by weight to a charity so you get something and so do others out of this?
As for books sell them and the clothes buy a kindle (or get one for Christmas, hint time!) then you can gave them all in tiny space
Do something positive and help others it does make a difference
Hugs and a gentle boot up the bum to get on with this ...Start info Dec11

I think I learned from people at both ends of the hoarding spectrum.
I knew someone whose house seemed so light, bright and peaceful. She rotated which ornaments/photos were on display. She had mainly neutral coloured key items of furniture (and clothes) and then jazzed them up with cheap fashionable items each season. And then got rid of the latter at the end of the year. Three things motivated me. It looked better than my place, it was much easier to clean and her clothes had plenty of space to hang. Mine are frequently crumpled after being jammed in drawers with stuff at the bottom which never got worn.
Then there are the people with books and DVDs everywhere. The people that take very old books which have been stored in the loft and have been spoilt in storage to the charity shop thinking they are doing a great favour. But people don't want to buy books like that and they haven't been read for years by their owners. If they had given them away after reading them (OK, keep a few that will be re-read) it would have helped everyone. And for me, the moral of the story is, don't keep things like books and DVDs long enough to get attached them. Let them go whilst other people can and will buy them and use them. If you end up re-buying an odd one, so be it.
I'll stop with one thought. When you enter a room of an uncluttered house, your eyes are drawn to the whole layout of the room, the space and ambience. When you enter the room which needs decluttering, the eyes are drawn to the piles of things that need attention (paperwork to do, things to put away). And, in my opinion, that is why it is stressful.Mortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000
