Has anyone got any suggestions what I should do about a problem I've had today, please?
A while ago, I treated myself to a RoC gift pack with face cream and eye cream in, in order to get the Mother's day GWP which I thought was really good value. Unfortunately, I finally got round to trying the eye cream and sample moisturiser from the GWP, and they're no good for my skin, so today I took the sealed face/eye cream gift pack back to Boots to swap it for something else. All was going swimmingly until the SA made a mistake with the refund on the computer/till and had to call the manager. She said I couldn't have an exchange on skincare, even though it was all sealed, and she wouldn't budge on this. So, what can I do?? I've now got £37.99 (although it's on offer at the moment for £32.99, when the SA started doing the exchange through the till it came up as £37.99) worth of stuff that I can't use.
I don't want to contact customer services, cos when I e-mailed them about the £5 till spits I'd been unable to use, they were really snotty and said it was the last time they would help me (!!!)
When you say it's not good for your skin, do you mean you had a bad reaction, or it just doesn't work with your skin type (like too dry or greasy or something)? If you had a reaction, I'd call customer service -- don't write. I know they said they wouldn't help again, which is unspeakably crap service, but you'll get someone different when you call and maybe they'll help.
If it's just that you don't like it for your skin type, I'd take it to another store and try again. Last week I took back the Elle toner and massager because I knew I would never use the massager and didn't really need more toner/scrub. The cashier wasn't sure she could take back the toner (both items were unused), so she consulted with another SA who said you can't return bath items (meaning the toner, not the massager). We didn't know what to do as they had been bogof, and I wanted rid of the massager most of all -- neither of us thought to just exchange it, and she was all uncertain what to do and there was a line and I was exhausted, etc. So I said forget it, I'll return it to another Boots. Which I did. There, I said I'd like to return both items but if you can't take the toner/scrub, I'll keep it and just exchange the massager for another Elle item of the same price. The SA let me return both without blinking, didn't even open the toner to check it hadn't been used (which it hadn't). And that was that.
The morale of my long story: Take it back elsewhere; if the stuff is obviously unopened and unused, some SA will give you an exchange or refund.0 -
Well I tried to snap up as many bargains as I could.
First stop in BridportSimple Daily Radiance SPF 10 £3.25 from £6.49
Expert Night Treatment £2.25 from £4.49
Some more Sanctuary Lomi Lomi body butter £1.87 from £7.45 unfortunately couldn't use the 342 as only 2 left
I got the fruit smoothie one for 95p from £3.79 (and there were tons left in a box on a stand near perfumes/hairdryers)
TB Body Scrub mini (50ml) at 50p from either £1 or £2.
Got them all with points. The SA was distracted as someone came in who had lost her Advantage card and was asking what to do plus there was quite a queue. So I didn't realise straightaway that I didn't get the till split!
Luckily the next day went to Weymouth and one of my friends got one and gave it to me...
So gotUG Intense Shine Conditioning Mask for 9p with ACM voucher! (thank you so much to the person who reported this one!!!!!)
Botanics Firming Body Gel (50ml) for 25p (down from poss £2)FCUK Moisture Mist £1 down from £4.
This means this shop only cost £1.34!!!!0 -

Will check back later, must go make dinner quickly in time for a hour with Mr Clarkson, Mr May and Mr Hammond *drooling in anticipation*
It's light and non-greasy, feels like you've put nothing on but adds shine (and hopefully some sun protection!). Very nice.0 -

Does anyone else sometimes feel like they're just a hamster running around on a big wheel to nowhere?
But at least I'm a well perfumed and beautifully made up hamster :rotfl:
Hope you're feeling better now, Buffy. Sorry life has been getting you down - happens to us all, but we're here to help and I hope your lovely perfume treat will cheer you up!0 -
