I've been to Asda and bought a new freeview box.
The one ex left me with in March was a cheap one that the volume was going on. Its graduallly gotten worse and worse over the past few weeks until last night I had to put the volume on maximum to hear it. Between that and the fact that I'm sick of wanting to watch films that are on but can't as they're on so late I gave in and went and bought one we can record on
Also picked up a couple of DVDs but I've put those away
Not got much else done except some of the paperwork and laundry.Oh well. I'm not too worried.
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Shell - if you did the letters on a whim I'd be inclined to sleep on it - it won't make any difference handing in your notice tomorrow rather than today, will it? If you've thought it all through and can manage then, yes family life is more important, leave it.
Good luck with your decision
PS If you did it on the work computer and change your mind, make sure you've got rid of the evidence!!Don't put it down, put it away - thanks Valli

Hello everyone
Have been busy flying since first light - the weather is brill - sunshine and a good strong breeze so the washing machine has been working overtime.
Am just having a bit of a late lunch before I put the Mr T stuff away and then go and oil up the garden furniture ready for next weekend. Will sort out the photos laterI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Afternoon everyone.
Had a nice swim this morning. It is still very windy here, so don't think I will risk putting the washing out. All the window boxes have blown off the windowsill. I nipped into the co-op on the way home and picked up a few bargains. 2 punnets of cherries 60p each, 1 litre organic milk 25p, 3 bell peppers 30p. bad eh.
The chuck and roasties are in the oven.
I have been trying to get some photos off my camera (loads from the school trip last week and some for my foodie blog) but it is refusing to download them. I think the memory card has gone dickie.
I tried to re-format the card but that doesn't seemed to have worked. I suppose as long as it is just the card and not the camera, I can live with that.
I have a £10 E-voucher for Amazon (from the lovely people at V.O. so I might see if I can find another memory card.Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0 -

I've just done a 3 hour challenge with a short break in the middle for lunch, mainly on the clothes in the spare room, so it is looking loads better in there. It is really windy here today - the bedsheets dried on the line in about 11/2 hours, so i have now got a 3rd wash load in, and another planned to go straight in to make the most of the lovely drying weather. Dh and ds1 were out there for a bit - far too cold for playing out but ds1 wanted to, he wanted to play with his water table but we said no to that. The wind is so strong it blew over the trampoline
ds2 has been a twinkle and slept for most of my challenge, so it helped.
quick list check, and then i will be pegging out the next lot, and getting the WM on again, and then it will probably be time to feed ds2 again. I love it when a day comes together like this and it feels like we got somewhere.
Our plans for the weekend involve:- pack away[strike] some of the newborn[/strike]/0-3 month clothes and put back in the loft and 0-3 started, some to recycle, some now too small, some will fit for another couple of weeks
- [strike]defrost fridge[/strike]
- [strike]food shop[/strike]
- [STRIKE]cut ds1 hair[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]flea treat ginger[/STRIKE]
- go to local fete on sunday if weather ok
- [strike]wash bedding - our bed, cot, travel cot bottom sheet[/strike]
- submit gas and elec meter readings tried but website was down
- 2 boxes of maternity clothes into loft, also box of NB clothes and box of shoes to go in
- visit parents
- [strike]do some ironing[/strike]
- file away stack of papers i sorted
- [STRIKE]wash my hair[/STRIKE]
- [strike]remake all beds[/strike]
shell doesn't help that you are bored and lonely in your job, i would gladly give up mine if i could afford to, and the only thing stopping me is thinking about the longer term, and what i would do with myself once both boys are at school - plus i have the benefit of having school hols off.
serena forgot to say earlier hope the hols is a good rest for you and you have a great time
Anws mum know what you mean about the weeks disappearing. It doesn't feel like that long since i left work but i have already had nearly a 1/4 of my maternity leave - and that makes me feel sad that my boys are growing so quick
mudbath hope them limbs unsieze a little. Don't want you starting another week with a good excuse not to fly. That was an impressive time you ran in. I've only ever gone for a run/jog once, and i was so beetroot like i decided not to bother again, i much prefer not shaming myself by letting everyone see how unfit i am

Oh glee.. hubby is off to rip out ANOTHER fireplace.. it is on the landing in a corridor and I have permanent bruises on my arms from the mantle.. more flipping soot!!!
Michelle.. I poured nail polish remover on the tiles and scrubed with a piece of kitchen towel.. it appears to all be off.. hubby wasn't impressed with the nail polish remover but it did the job!!
2 loads of washing in.. 1 load in the dryer (all socks and pants) and another 4 loads hung out.. I had 2 baskets of wet stuff from yesterday and 2 machines full too.. just got all the lot I brought in to fold. IT is all towels, jeans and winter coats out there now.. and the same in the machines as well.. not to mention the load of black socks I need to pair up.. job for DD1 I think.
I appear to have mislaid a binbag of stuff for charity shop.. no doubt it'll turn up!
bang bang crash crash.. hubby is destroying the house!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Pigpen - love the chicks. Can you imagine the mess they would be in today though? Wind is so bad here that some glass has gone in the greenhouse.
Good luck with the fireplace. DH is building me a dovecote thingy- I think it is pointing avoidance.
Thank you to everyone who has added me on facebook. A lot less billy no mates now. Most people I know are technophobes.

Pigpen you would be proud of me today. I've cleaned the living room from top to bottom, I've even pulled the corner sofa out to vacuum underneath.
I have also finally got on facebook. Got sick of all me friends asking. Have requested to be a member of the ol style mse group. Haven't got any photos on yet - i'm not amazingly good with computers so may have to wait until DH gets back from China.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend.0
