Cheapest way to unlock the Nokia 6630 (locked to Hutchinson 3G)

the normal networks will only charge a "resonable" amount to cover the paperwork. it is 3 that are ripping the customers and i think one of the watchdog bodies are looking into to it0
-
Also 3 won't unlock the h/set if you're not the registered owner of the handset (ie the handset imei isn't registered to your account) I've just had an e-mail back from nokia confirming that the unlock codes are released for the handset (3 told me they weren't available) and i'm going to be speaking to Otelo later this afternoon to see if they can help me in any way shape or form (i bought my nokia 6680 fairly and squarely from someone as an unwanted upgrade and have a paper trail to verify this so don't see why i should be penalised for this)
I appreciate they have network/handset security to think of however they come across as being very heavy handed compared to the other uk providers.First name Mister

That is not true at all - ebay feedback should only be used as a guideline. Somebody with nearly 100% positive is probably a very good bet.jf2404 wrote:And "nearly 100% feedback " on ebay is not 100%, so they have done something wrong .

I myself have a non-100% record - the reason why ? Well I objected to a seller who sold me a 'genuine nokia fascia' that was a cheap rubbish fake copy.
I gave him a -ve and his response was to give me a -ve too (unless I retracted my -ve for him) so I am lumbered with a non 100% rating because I did the right thing.
This has happened to loads of people so read the comments and rest assured that anything above 95% or so is excellent! To infinity and beyond!0 -
Was that at a vodafone store ?bertha wrote:I had my 6630 unlocked by paying vodaphone £20.

My understanding is that the fee charged by '3' is related to how far through your contract you are. If you are at the end of the contract the fee is relatively small (£50 or less). If you are at the start then the fee is high. This approach is reasonable in my view - otherwise people could take out a cheapo contract deal, unlock it, sell a £200 phone on Ebay and then never use '3'.
Maybe the person who got their phone unlocked by Vodaphone was at the end of the contract....otherwise Vodaphone are mad!0 -
No, through vodaphone customer services paying by phone with my credit card. They sent me a letter with the code. Well, actually they sent me a letter with an incorrect code so I had to phone again and then I got another letter with the correct codemike_paterson wrote:Was that at a vodafone store ?

Were you a vodafone customer at the time, or switching to them ?
Cheers
