Sorry to butt in on a thread but Ive seen some of you talk Apple Ram.
Ive had some kernel panic issues
and after some posting on the Apple Support forum, ive tried some of the simple fixes, but it seems I may need to replace the RAM. I want to put some decent quality memory in (genuine Apple if possible), but want to know what other brands may be just as good and value for money? eBay have some dodgy sounding brands but reasonable prices, but dont want to be replacing it in 3 months!
Any suggestions for brands/websites they've used?

Your RAM might just need reseated, i.e. taken out and put back in again.
RAM that is not installed correctly can cause kernel panics.0 -
Ive not touched any hardware since I bought the iBook, can it unseat by itself? Im tempted to upgrade the RAM anyway

It might never have been installed correctly in the first place, and with a laptop being moved around, it could certainly come loose.
If you're just looking for an excuse to upgrade though, go right ahead! 0 -

Yes, if you'd rather not chance eBay, Crucial are quite cheap and their service is excellent.0

They are actaully cheaper on Crucial than the Crutial ones are on eBay! I've heard nothing but good things about them, and I have used them myself a number of years ago. I think they offer a 5 year warranty.0
