i never got anything from the tooth fairy....ever but thats because i used to put my teeth under my pillow but not tell anyone they had fallen out, think i expected the tooth fairy to be psychic & know when my teeth fell out :rotfl:The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about - Oscar Wilde:beer:

DS1, nearly 6 and a half just lost his first tooth and he got £5 but was told thats cause the first tooth is special. He piped up, 'next time it might be 20 or 50' I said, pence? He said 'no.....pounds'!!!!Bringing up 2 handsome boys and 1 gorgeous girl the MSE way!Joseph born 19th December 2001Matthew born 8th August 2007Tara born 23rd January 20110

It's getting wobblier. Could be putting it under the pillow any time soon.
DS also has a complete phobia of anyone like Santa / Tooth Fairy / Easter Bunny visiting his bedroom so will probably have to put it under a pillow on the landing. That's Numberwang!0 -
Our two usually get £2 per tooth - though my DS lost his first one in a river while fishing and ended up with a fiver!!!
One suggestion i will give, is to put the tooth in a little box - an empty ring/earring box is ideal, and try to encourage them NOT to leave it under the pillow - I tell you it's very hard to fish for a tiny tooth wrapped in loo roll under a pillow in the dark..... or worse, prising it out of their fingers if they've fallen asleep holding it!!!

Ah yes, that's another reason our Tooth Fairy sometimes used to come during the day, because it was SO dark she couldn't find it! :rotfl: No, of course she didn't forget, she really did try!
I have now given up waiting until they are asleep before letting Santa in to deliver their stockings, usually chuck them at them and say "Don't open it now, don't leave satsuma peel in your bed, and don't wake me up too early!" But they are all taller than me now ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
well 1.50 for first tooth then 50p or a £1 thereafter seems fair
unless its a front tooth where they get a bit more
most i ever got was a few pound
think it came down to whatever was in the toothfairies pocket that night lol:A VK :A0 -
My son got £1.50 for the first tooth and is currently getting £1 per subsequent tooth - it seems to be the going rate with his friends too.
I used to get 10p in 2 pence pieces - I thought it was riches - it was a long time ago though now!!0 -
Could you not put a recording of J J BArries 'No charge' under his pillow instead
IvanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
My girls get 50p, just as well too as the little one lost 4 just over the half term week! She's only 5 and thinks she's rich even if I don't seem to give the going rate lol.
I used to get 20p when I was little (1980s).:heart2: Mumma to DD 13yrs, DD 11yrs & DS 3 yrs. :heart2:0
