I want a really GOOD phone, not necessarily the latest one

My OH has the K800i and I prefer the K750i - because the lens cover is too easy to slip off on the 800 (meaning battery life is reduced) and the light for the camera on the 750 can be turned on and off at will, making it very useful as an emergency torch! I have actually used it as a torch loads. Also I think that the pictures I have taken with it are good enough quality - but all of these are down to personal preference, and the 800 does look more slick than the 750. I also find on the 800 that when I am texting with one hand I press the camera shutter button by mistake and it interrupts the text, which is annoying. The shutter button on the 750 does not do anything unless you are in camera mode.
At the risk of getting myself shot for mentioning a commercial product, what Himself needs, absolutely and without any doubt or reservation, for his K800i is one of * THESE *.
(If that one's gone by the time you read this, there are more * HERE *.)
They come in various flavours (see second link) but I prefer the black one with the "Uni" configuration.
They are a quality product which, apart from being cheap and totally marvellous, will stop the camera cover of his K800i sliding open accidentally and thereby draining its battery by making a 20 minute movie of the inside of his pocket.
I swear by these Trinity leather skins. I've got one on my Nokia 9300i, one on my K800i and (now) one on my K850i.
My companion has one on her K750i, too, and is just as enthusiastic. Sadly, though, they now seem to have stopped selling them for the K750i.
One word of warning: when they first arrive they are very tight indeed to fit on the 'phone - you think the thing must be one size too small! But persevere. After a few days they stretch to make a perfectly snug fit and you realise that if they had been any larger initially they would be baggy after a week.
Usual disclaimer: I have no commercial interest in this whatsoever. I'm just a totally satisfied customer and have been so many years.
Do get him one as a pressie: less than a tenner and he'll love you for it. :kisses2:
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

Ok these are expensive potentially, so only viable for contract upgrades really, but
- Nokia N95 8Gb. Pictures in daylight are amazing. Very sharp, super colours. So so far in excess of anything the k750i could do. But no xenon flash
- Nokia N82 -- this is the same camera as the N95 8Gb but with xenon flash and from all accounts is up there with the C802
But these are expensive, complex, but full-feature phonesWhat goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
