    Hi.

I have read with interest your story today. I am in the first stages of dispair and reading your journey has encouraged me enormously!

I sincerely hope all goes well for you today. You sound to me a logical and intelligent type of bloke and I consider myself the same which is why I am so disgusted with the position I find myself in now.

Having read your posts and had some very supportive comments from people here, I feel tons better and am begining to think more clearly.

I await your post following your hearing and hope the news is good for you.

good luck mate...life would be boring if evrything was always rosey in the garden, my roses have been pruned to the roots but I hope like you they will grow back and one day the petals will be colourfull and a reminder that life does go on.

Sorry for the analogies and rather philasophical tone...it is my job, i am a teacher (military) and I find analogies always help to put things in to perspective.

    Good luck Dave.

    Good Afternoon guys and gals.

As of 12.44pm today i am no officially BR and have emerged on the other side. As someone said earlier - strangest numb feeling i've ever had..feel happy and relieved but some what guilty too. Strange feelings.

Here is how my day went

10.30am - Got to court and booked in with insolvency office - appoint was for 10.50am so told to go to general waiting and i would be called.

11.00am - called back into office to go through paperwork and hand over fees, a couple of queries on forms but nothing major, i just hadnt put the full address in one of the many places. Swore the affadavit on bible (:rotfl: ) and then was told to go back to district judges office at 12pm to see judge.

11.10am - Went to canteen and read my book, cant remember what happened but just remember i had read many pages. 3 or 4 coffees later too!! i went to the judges waiting area.

12.00pm - Sat in holding area with alot of people i had seen in the insolvency office earlier. Took an age to see the judge, i was hoping he was too busy with all the other cases but no he saw us all individually

12.40pm - My name was called...Why did i have so many coffee's before...i could hardly walk for fear of peeing myself  He was a nice man, efficient and to the point but pleasant , asked me why had got in this mess so i explained regarding ex GF and when i first noticed debt problems. He asked me regarding house etc as could see different addresses on my paper work, i told him that it was no vacant and awaiting either reposession or sale. Ask the all important question of 'Did i think i had lived beyond my means?' by which i answered yes and that was that. He looked up at the clock behind me and declared the news i was waiting/dreading to hear!!

Mr ******* as of 12.44pm you are now declared bankrupt. Please go back to the original office and collect your paperwork.

12.50pm - got my paperwork back with my BR number on, was told that the OR would ring me with in the next couple of days and then i left the court (via way of the loo's as bladder about to pop ) and went back to car.

1.00pm - Got back to my car, noticed some '!!!!!!' has scuffed the rear wheel arch   , only slightly but never mind.

And thats it. I have survived and have reached the other side.

Thank you to all that have offered me support and well wishes and to everyone who has had an input on my paperwork to get me to this point, it was well worth it in the end.:T :T :T

If i can get here then so can others and i hope my experiences and ramblings here will assist others in this most difficult of decisions.

Thanks, A very relieved and Bankrupt Toon_Dave. X:D

Sounds like it all went well, though a bummer about the car.

Glad that your bladder managed to hold out:rolleyes:

    :j  :j
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(
  • Great that it all went smoothly for you dave, well apart from the bladder issue:p

I told you it would be a strange day though ;) that numbness will turn to relief by the end of the day, followed by numbness again after a few beers:rotfl:
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(
