I took out a Clubcard Plus account and have about £300 in deals but am wondering if it is a waste of time as I would rather shop at Sainsburys. I did plan to use them for USA but as others have pointed out we would have to pay full price, transport from airport and book our own hotel. We do not have children at home now so cannot use them for days out etc. Fancy a few days in New York but would have to find a special offer for this but may find a better deal with other airlines than Virgin which may include accommodation. I hate Tesco and only use it to get points.0

Will have another look but there doesn't really seem to be anything except going out to places that we don't go as children are grown up and not many places in the North West anyway. With meals we usually go for places with specials and early bird type deals and you can't use vouchers for them. Oh dear, this all sounds like moaning for what is after all a freebie. The thing is, I wouldn't have used Tesco is it hadn't been for the points. I prefer Asda and Morrisons.Second purse £101/100

We don't have children, I'm in my 30s and oh is 50 but we still love days out. Had a great trip to London, visited London Zoo, Docklands museum and London Eye. Zoo and museum paid for with Tesco vouchers, London Eye using Leisure vouchers collected from various suvey sites and Pigsback. The hotel was paid for via cashback site, and a good deal. We had a great weekend and it cost us the petrol down to London and a little bit towards the hotel.ilovefreegle.org - give it away don't throw it away0

can I just check that I've worked this out properly
we want to stay in a hotel that accepts the tesco clubcard points ,
it is £127 per night and we want to stay for 2 nights making a total of £254
I make it that we need £63.50 in clubcard points does that sound right
for every £10 of vouchers they will give us £40 of deals0 -

Looks right to me. £254 / 4 = £63.500 -

That's what I was thinking. And why it seems an expensive way of getting a holiday. I really don't know whether to just use the vouchers for shopping in Tesco now, as there doesn't seem to be a lot else that I would use them for but it seems a shame when I have been saving them up. I hope to have £100 when this months mailing comes. That's £400 in deals.
You could always sell them - they seem to sell for around double their face value on ebay. Have a look and see!0 -

the way i see it is this - you cant look at the overall cost of the holiday, you have to look at it as which way you get the better deal
so if you have £100 of vouchers, that £100 to spend in tesco (because thats what they are worth in CASH) - now if changed into deals you have £400 to spend on a holiday - so you have to decide whether paying £100 (the actual cash value) for the holiday makes it a reasonable price, rather than thinking that £400 (in deals) is expensive iyswim

I was thinking of using my vouchers towards a holiday in this country but they all seem expensive compared with deals you can get out of the paper etc. What do others think? I have about £85 worth of vouchers so far.
so the holidays you are looking at, are how much less in the papers, than you can get like for like with deals? say the paper price is £100 and the deals prices is £200, its still cheaper to get the holiday using your deals tokens, as you would only need to spend £50 of your tesco vouchers
now if the holiday is £100 in the paper and £500 in deals tokens, then its cheaper to buy the holiday in the paper, as you would need to spend £125 of tesco vouchers

Hi,
Could anyone tell me what the best way would be to use my clubcard vouchers for flights to Savannah, USA? Would I be better exchanging them for airmiles, virgin vouchers? I don't need accomodation as I'd be staying with family, just flights for myself and my 3 year old. I have about £300 clubcard vouchers (so about £1200 in deals I believe?)
Thanks in advance for any advice.
