I have never received anything for the Tesco Food Club, despite joining- then trying to join again to make sure that it had added me (which it said it had)

Wait and see, something will drop through my letter box this morning
  • They are becoming so cheap nowadays. I got the win £100 and money of creme fraiche (blech). Normally there are about 8ish vouchers. I'm going to give them a piece of my mind.
  • I hope someone can answer this for me. I have a classic Tesco Credit Card which I believe still gives 1pt for every £2 spent (I've not used it for 2 years but the woman on the phone told me that was the case!).

I'm still waiting for my Clubcard Plus to arrive (impatient see!) but I want to buy a TV on Tesco Direct and see they have double points on there til Sunday. If I pay for it on my Credit Card, will I get the same amount of points as I would get with the Clubcard Plus? If I understand it correctly (which may not be the case), I will get triple points if I buy with either at the moment. Could someone clarify for me please?

Also, does anyone know if the double points on Direct items is online only, as I live near an Extra store so if I can get the TV instore, I could also save myself the delivery fee! ;)

    Thanks

You will get double standard points on Direct online purchases until the end of this weekend. What you get on Tesco credit card or Clubcard plus is on top of that but if you have a Platinum classic credit card you will also get double the 1point per £2 on tesco.com purchases.

The double points is only on online purchases from Tesco Direct but you can get some items delivered to your local Tesco for free.

Thank you! I've been waiting to buy this TV for ages and it's come down in price drastically and with the double points it makes it well worth buying now! Woohoo!

Although my extra store has a Direct desk, they don't deliver there for some reason  .

Are you sure? My local Tesco (not Extra) has had a Direct desk for years and is still not listed as a store that accepts deliveries but you can select it when you go through to the online checkout and I have had stuff delivered there.

Positive There is no option online to have it delivered there so I called them and they said it's not a store that accepts deliveries :( Gutted. Have to pay £4.74 for postage!

Are there actually any good Tesco deals left? Everything on there seems to be holidays, going out, doing stuff whilst out, eating out etc. The only thing that seems to be a "discount off a purchase" is the jewellery section where there is still the caveat that you have to spend £200.

It seems that gone are the MFI days where they vouchers were useful to spend on stuff at home. Most of the deals seems to be those that you can get good discounts elsewhere with. I'm just surprised they don't have a tie up like Nectar do with Argos.

Anyone know if this will change in the future, or is it just worth spending them on money off a Tesco shop?

I use our clubcard points to pay for our RAC membership each year, and convert the rest to airmiles which go a long way towards paying for our American holiday. Works for us and much better value than spending them with Mr T!
