Hi everyone, just wondering if any kind person could answer a question for me.

Does any one know if I do the blockbuster deal how the tokens are presented from Blockbuster. Basically I wanted to be able to give this as a Christmas present but don't want then to know I paid in vouchers. Or if the format is suitable to give as a present, ie does it come as a gift type voucher?

I recently checked my Airmiles statement and noticed a credit from my Tesco Clubcard for 36 airmiles. What confuses me is that I thought that I had to have £2.50 worth of Clubcard vouchers to convert to Airmiles at the 60 mile rate. Before I make an idiot of myself and call Airmiles or Clubcard can someone explain to me how the system works as I can't seem to find this information on either the Tesco or Airmiles website?

I was under the impression that if I had 1500 Clubcard points then this is worth £15.00 in vouchers. Therefore, if I have £15.00 it will then be converted to 6 x £2.50 at the 60 airmile rate making a total of 360 airmiles. This seems to good to be true considering that's nearly halfway towards a one way flight to Edinburgh!

If someone could explain how the system works, I would appreciate it.

I can't answer the first part of your question - as you say, the minimum you can exchange is £2.50 worth of Clubcard vouchers.

However, the second part of your question is correct. 50p in Clubcard vouchers is worth 12 Airmiles, so £15 = 360 airmiles. Yes, this is a very good rate, and an excellent way of quickly boosting your Airmiles balance.

I was under the impression that the only way they can be converted is by going through the Tesco checkout process, typing in your voucher numbers and they appear in Airmiles after about three days. If this is the case, I don't know how you managed to get 36 airmiles (the equivalent of £1.50 in vouchers) as the checkout process shouldn't let you enter less than £2.50.

Another point to consider is that the Airmiles are probably not worth spending on a flight to Edinburgh, especially only using Clubcard vouchers. As you correctly point out, one flight to Edinburgh is worth 750 airmiles, or £31.50 in Clubcard vouchers. However, in order to rack up this amount of Clubcard vouchers, you would have to spend (or amass the equivalent of) £3,150 in Tesco. In comparison, the most expensive London to Edinburgh first-class, peak-time, walk-up, return train fare is £350.00, with off-peak return fares as cheap as £61.00 return if you book in advance. Likewise, easyJet do single London-Edinburgh (and back) fares from £21.99 each way.

All I'm saying is, probably best to keep saving your Airmiles for a bigger trip. I currently have just over 3,500 airmiles (only had the account since February 2008), and I'm continuing to build them up (not just through Clubcard) until I get to either 10,000 (enough for me and the other half to go to New York return) or 20,000 (both of us to Sydney and back).

When Nectar stopped participating in the Airmiles scheme and Tesco took over, I was given the option of having my Clubcard points automatically converted to Airmiles and they appear on my Airmiles account every quarter. Perhaps my Airmiles account gets credited anyway even if I do not have enough for the 60 mile conversion rate. I will have to email Clubcard to find this out.

I understand what you say about saving up Airmiles (I paid for myself, my husband and two teenage daughters to fly to Faro in the Summer this year on Airmiles). I have used my Airmiles in the past for short notice trips to Edinburgh from London City Airport as it works out cheaper to use them than pay for the flights in cash. Having said that, if easyjet have a sale and I'm booking in advance, I will fly with them and save my Airmiles.

Really pleased ,just used my £25 of clubcard vouchers to get 5 Pantomime tickets! They are £5 in clubcard vouchers per panto ticket, and the seats we got ( 2nd row) are worth £26!!!! We're all going for my dd1's birthday in jan :j

Hello everyone, I have read through most of this thread with interest and I now have a question I hope someone can answer.
I am getting married in May 2010 (yes I know it's a while off yet) and the only way we will be able to afford a honeymoon is to do it through Tesco Clubcard Deals.
I was just wondering if anyone has actually used Deals to book a holiday and their experiences? Also, I belive Tesco urge you to get travel insurance with them for holidays as they cover the loss of clubcard deals tokens if your holiday gets cancelled etc? Is this correct?

I'm wanting to organise a weekend away for my parents next year and I have a number of Tesco vouchers saved. Can anyone recommend the best Tesco Deal to use (I think there two hotel chains) and once I have the deal tokens can my parents use these to choose the hotel themselves or do I need to book the reservation myself? I'm thinking about Ireland so may need ferry tokens also.

Any advice would be most welcome!

Hi - these come as tokens which have the tesco logo on them so they will know how you paid, I did this last year for my bro-in-law, to be honest its a gr8 pressie don't worry about them knowing how you paid. Merry Xmas
