Hi there not sure if this the right place to post....

Ive been saving our Tesco clubcard vouchers for a holiday(YEAH) with the chidren, we have 2 yrs worth. So Ive converted most of them to COSMOS vouchers. my problem being I checked the holiday out on line got the price etc, rung cosmos to ask a few question.

So they tell me our holiday would be full price, no discounts etc
After working it out, it would be cheeper for us to book holiday online or in store than with Clubcard vouchers!?

Does this seem right? Or have I missed something?
For instance: Holiday to Spain 2 weeks
    2 adults £299pp
    3 kids £320pp
    fule charge etc 289
    total price £2200
    online discount £729
    Total price £1471

So this is what I would pay I booked online £1471
If I book through Cosmos with Tesco clubcard I pay £2200

It doesnt make sence to me, unless I have complety missed something lol

These figures are made up just for instance.

    Thanks

Like Hey Dude said, this is how it works out if you want to pay in vouchers. It depends if you have something else to spend the vouchers on or if you've got the spare cash to use otherwise. I booked a holiday last week with butlins. The online discounted price was £540 but i payed £680 in vouchers but it meant we get a holiday that hasn't cost us anything (other than we could have bought £170 worth of shopping) Also, i get a lot of vouchers and never know what to spend them on so it worked out well all round :D

yes but you only pay £550 in clubcard vouchers. would you rather pay £1471.and your vouchers are free so you are paying nothing.i book with virgin .you pay roughly the online price less the online discount.good deal i think.
  • Just popped into Tesco to use my treasured £2.50 Clubcard voucher. My shopping came to £2.48. No problem I thought because I don't want the 2p change. Tesco can keep it. After all "Every Little Helps". But hang on, what's this...... The Computer Says NO ! It says I must spend £2.50, or more. The assistant shrugged her shoulders, just like Carol Beers from Little Britian. I didn't know what to do by this stage and the shoppers waiting behind me are growing more impatient by the minute. "Buy some mints or something"? was the helpful reply from Mr Angry man behind me "Where can I find them?" I ask. "Third row down, nearest the door". And there I am running like a mad thing, looking like someone out of that telly program, Supermarket Sweep. And this hassle comes on top of the previous week where I tried to redeem a voucher for 20p off fresh fruit. To put it bluntly don't even attempt to buy peppers or tomatoes because, you've guessed it, The Tesco Computer will say NO!

I know its a cardinal sin but i spent some of my clubcard vouchers in store today as well as using a voucher to get a free bottle of coke, but the checkout operator handed me the vouchers back anyone know if I would be able to use them again, don't want to get refused or something!

Nope sorry, all vouchers have to be validated before they're accepted so these would be refused if you try and use them again. If it happens again, best just to hand them back to save the cashier getting into any trouble ;)
  • I'm trying Sooooooooooo hard to save my clubcard points to get enough to buy a watch from goldsmiths for my hubby........the watch is 1800 pounds. Meaning i have to save 450pounds worth of tesco points. Think this means i need a Whooping 45,000 points and i'm not close!! I've done the ink cartridges thing, which has got me 9000 points in total (have registered a card at mum and my brothers house!) which leaves me 36000 points short! Suggestions on how i could boost this QUICKLY are more than welcome!!

Thank you Tingly and King of Fools.

I didn't realise you had to keep all your vouchers and we have just moved, and have no idea where they all are.

Rang Customer Service who are rolling them over to next mailing and will send out ones I have not used.
  • I was wanting to use some of my clubcard vouchers for a hotel stop - does anyone know which hotels are best to use and if any are pet friendly?

I know Slug and Lettuce will stop accepting clubcard vouchers on Dec. 1, but I'm curious if anyone has used them their recently? I can just see going in and learning staff think they are supposed to stop taking them already. We want to go there once more before we have to start using the vouchers elsewhere, and basically only go out to eat when there are clubcard vouchers or a half-off coupon.
  • I was in the new Tesco Express in Coatbridge when I heard one of the SA/Manager saying that if you used your Clubcard Vouchers on Tesco Direct you got four times the value - cant see anything on the website. Is he mixed up because I can't see this hapening but would be brill if it was true!
