surely double up isnt ending already?
the only reason im collecting the points is to double up and buy baby stuff,

when i go on tesco direct and click on "use your clubcard double up reward tokens" it says:

Use your Clubcard double up rewards tokens
Promotion ends: Sunday 31 October 2010

so i was hoping it woudnt end untill next year?!?!

Double up is ending because of Clubcard 2. Since you now get double points as a matter of fact at Tesco then this replaces having to 'double up the vouchers' within a selected department. You can now spend your already doubled voucher on whatever you like.

Hmm they could have ended the double up vouchers at the same time of starting the double up points if they really wanted to. The date seems significant - close to xmas & jusst before the vouchers start arriving on our doormats & the sales on tesco direct to compete with everyone else.

Come on Tesco, I've dropped a few hints, don't disappoint me or I might just spend on those xmas presents elsewhere.

Does seem a bit daft- I thought they just stopped the double-up as they hold back until the next set of vouchers come through the post- so the double up when it comes back gets a boost, additional advertising and people jump onto it as they think its available only for a short time- I didn't knwo they were stopping it all together!

It seems mad as people will expect to double up their vouchers for Xmas- like you say, and then come to realise that they can't do that, so in retaliation will not shop at Tescos as often as they will likely feel kinda negative towards them and then Tescos lose out. Like I say, seems daft.
  • Hi there,
Wonder if someone can help? I should have received my Tesco vouchers at the end of August - nearly the end of September and I still haven't had anything! I'm not very worried but they would come in handy for the shopping and from what I've been reading on the forum they have a shortened life span now so it may not even be worth receiving them, might it??
Is there a contact number etc. at all does anyone know?
    Thanks in advance
    Samantha

    Hi Sam

Tesco vouchers are still valid for 2 years, it is the double up vouchers that are going to expire end of this month.

Phone customer service and tell them you haven't received your vouchers.

you can double up til the end of this month, but the vouchers are valid for 3m, so that would mean you can still spend them at christmas

tbh, i dont think the end of the double-up offer is enough to make people shop elsewhere - as already stated, they have doubled the points instead, so technically its still the same offer, but without the hastle of going to customer services to have them exchanged

  • HI, can somebody point me in the right direction please?

I've been collecting clubcard points for a lifetime and now when I've checked them some of them have expired (I didn't realise that they had a 2yr life).

Is there anything I can do? How do I appeal to their better nature and sweet talk them - is there any point in trying?

Any ideas would be good. We've been saving the vouchers so that we could book to go to disneyland paris with our 6 year old son. We can't afford it otherwise.

    Thanks Jan x

Thats what I thought- but apparently reading on here, others have been told by people working at Tesco that they are stopping the whole thing full stop, the reason being that now you get double points on everything and can spend it on anything.

Thats why I said; seems daft to pull the thing just before Xmas, if they have decided to pull it, they couldn't have chosen a worse time of year. May not stop everyone shopping at Tescos but does not leave a good taste in the mouth's of any new shoppers and to those who may have been let down, it may be enough to irritate them enough to switch supermarkets.
