Does anyone have any good ideas on what to buy from Goldsmiths which could later be sold for 75% or better of the purchase price?
you cannot guarantee a return on anything you buy, but if you get it cheap enough, you will get some return
tbh, if you are looking at turning the item into cash, then i think buying and selling in a short space of time, would make the best returns, as its easier to find out current 2nd-hand prices, than make a guess on the future
But any return above 25% has got to be worth it, has it not? i know you want to make the most you can, but you got the tesco vouchers for free, so any return is better than nothing
Tbh, i wouldnt say Goldsmiths deal in collector jewellery, but if i had to buy something i would be looking at the watches, most prob Breitling, or if looking for cheaper items, things like Cross pens

Hi
I would like to ask, if anyone have not still received the clubcard vouchers, that were supposed to arrive in August.
I have more than one account and some were received, others not !
I hope that, there is a delay by tesco, in sending them, as when i checked online, they have disappeared !
Thanks0 -
Goldsmiths jewellery prices seem to be so inflated in the first place, I reckon things in there would be valued far less than what you pay, let alone go up in value.0

Everyone should have received them by now however, i ordered mine on 25/8 after withdrawing from the christmas savers and was told they'd be here by the 4th and i'm still waiting....... I phoned on the 4th and was told they were very busy but they're definitely on their way :rolleyes:0 -
Thanks everyone for the feedback so far - I agree with all you have said so far ie :
* selling vouchers is risky
* goldsmiths products are overpriced
* getting more than 25% of the clubcard deals value is a bonus (but then again this is what you could use them for in Tescos anyway...)
* turning around a sale sooner, rather then later is probably better
* buying a quality watch or pen from Goldsmiths may be the best thing to do
Some time ago I thought it may be an idea to advertise if anyone wanted an item from Goldsmiths, that I may be able to come to an "arrangement" with them. Thinking here was that they would be buying an item from Goldsmiths anyway and I would be contributing in part to lowering their purchase price, in return for an agreed amount. I dont know if people do this / can do this ? Also it has its risks and could take some time and effort...
I quite like the idea of buying a quality watch as if I cant sell it, at least I can appreciate it (in its box) till someone offers the right amount... And if no ones interested I may even use it myself or make someone happy with a nice present !
Does anyone have any other suggestions of what to buy from Goldsmiths which would have a good re-sale value ?
Some time ago I talked to a senior-ish person in Goldsmiths about gold bars and other items which would have a good re-sale value. It was very apparent that Goldsmiths are very much a British retail jeweller, I have some experience with asian jewellers and there many purchases are a way of storing value till it is needed at a later date. It is also quite easy there to get the going rate for 24 carat gold, platinum and so on, unlike here in the UK.
Goldsmiths can make custom gold bars, but they have all sorts of charges for making it and so on, that it just does not become viable. Also they do not sell gold coins, well as far as I am aware, and if they do they would be at a significant markup to the actual gold value.
So this got me thinking that maybe a simple platinum ring is the way. As far as I am aware there are no grades on platinum, so all platinum is very similar. I am not sure if vat is payable on platinum either. I understand it is chargeable on either gold or silver, not 100% at the moment. Also they have some nice diamond rings, maybe this would hold value well.
Perhaps someone knows of another clubcard deal, which would have a high resale value ?
I am concerned that with the new clubcard that 4 times clubcard value may well be changing in the near future. I dont know what the current view here is on this ?
Thanks in advance..

Yeah!!
In Tesco last night the assistant forgot to add my green points for using by own bags (6 large ones). I normally wouldn't have bothered, but, inspired by this thread, asked about it at customer services, and they added 50 for my trouble!:T0 -

Hi ALL,
I have turned up a load of tesco reciepts with clubcard points yet to be added, from when my daughter borrows the car and takes the fob along with the keys, how in date do they have to be to send them off and what is the address they have to be sent to, i have tried getting them put on my club card at the desk but they will only validate two at a time and there is always a queue as it is customer services.
any sugestions, many thanks

You have 2 weeks to get the points added at customer service and can only do 2 a day, like you've said. As far as i know, there's no other way0 -
