Love the sound of this Floss. Do you use the no pre-cook lasagne sheets?
I've tried these a couple of times and ended up with something you could re-sole your shoe with. :o Anyone know where I'm going wrong?

I always use the no pre-cook lasagne. Make sure that your bolognaise sauce has plenty of liquid (more than you would have if you were just having spaghetti) , to enable the lasagne to soak it up and soften whilst in the oven - also loads of bechamel sauce too.

    Hey guys,

Has anyone got a quick and easy giude to making Lasagne?

I'm trying to cut down on buying pre-maid foods and doing it myself. My wife has just recently gone through a terrible child birth experience and so is out of action for 2-3 months, so it's down to me to do the housework/cooking before and after work. I'm seriously thinking of buying a slow cooker so I can make food before I go to work.

Any suggestions would be a great help.

    Thanks in advance.

Asda smartprice white sauce and bolognese sauce. And some cheap mince are all you really need for ingredients.

Cook the mince and mix in the bolognese sauce. Put a layer of the mince mixture, then a layer of lasagne sheets, then a layer of white sauce - repeat this combination either once or twice again then put a sprinkling of grated cheese on the top and hey presto its ready to put in the oven for half to three quarters of an hour - and tastes brilliant!

And it goes well with salad and or garlic bread!

Thanks. What sort of temp will I heat the oven to? And how thick should the layers be?

Sorry, new to this. I made cottage pie last night, really nice and went down well. Well proud of myself.

  • Hugs to your wife and well done for helping out I wish all OH were like you.

Anyway as above but the white sauce that i think is made by bisto in the gravy granual aisle is grate tastes fab and you can make it as thin or thick as you like - again it depends if you really want to cook from scratch or not. And why not cook double then you can freeze fro another day....

The slowcooker is a great idea as when you come in form work you can then breathe a nice sigh that dinner is done.

    Lol,

I normally cook it at about 175 - 200 depending on your oven if its a fan oven or not - mines a fan oven so usually just below 200 c.

The layers can be as thick or thin as you like but I tend to put a nice covering over the previous layer so you cant see the next layer down - except for when the sheets of lasagne are going on and just fit a couple on at a time - though it also depends on the size of your dish you are using.

Sounds like you are getting domesticated!

Chicken fajitas are also quite easy to make - just fry some chicken until it turns white, then add some onions and peppers and keep stirring it for about 5 - 10 mins then add some fajita seasoning or some curry powder and cook for about another 5 minutes and you have a lovely tasting mixture that you can serve with wraps (I dont always as its good on its own) or rice or potato wedges (cut some potatoes up, drizzle in some oil then put in oven - you can even make them tastier by adding parmesan or crumble a chicken oxo cube)

Am sure you will be fine and that your wife will really appreciate the effort you go to and whatever the food turns out like!
