Thanks for the replies everyone. Here's hoping it arrives sooner rather than later. It was £9 to have the printer delivered using the faster delivery service which I thought was a bit extreme. We use fast couriers at work and they're a lot cheaper than that. Anyway, as it's the first time I've used Amazon I'll reserve judgement as it seems a lot of people are happy with their service. :)
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

    Aren't you the clever one.

If I'd have know that it might take them four days to get the printer, put it in a box and address it, I might have used a different company completely. They've already billed me too, whereas I've made a few online orders from companies recently and they've not billed me until it's been dispatched.

Sounds like you need to learn how to read websites rules about shipping. I seem to have this lack of reading problem as well. oh well.

    Happy reading.

I ordered a T shirt recently from Amazon - it did take longer than I am used to, it wasn't until I looked at the parcel closely that I realised that it had come from the states! Guess when they say in stock, it doesn't necessarily mean their warehouse.

I've also ordered shoes with Amazon - they came from Schuh in Scotland. No delay at all on those. I don't read the print re delivery that much either, but I really haven't had the need to - as said previously, think Amazon are excellent.

Amazon generally do ask for feedback when they use an outside seller - so you can have your say and bring Amazon's attention to it. If they don't ask, you can always let them know anyway. Why don't you contact them and ask them where the lap top is and where is it coming from? The fact that you have paid £9 for delivery seems to me a fair price to pay and I too would expect the item earlier if I had paid that amount.

The super saver delivery has improved a lot recently, they seemed to go through a bad spell while they moved it all away from Royal Mail.

Its not called Super Fast Free Delivery but the way its Super Saver Delivery there is nothing to indicate it will be fast and Amazon mention several times during the checkout process that it will take longer.

    thats an interesting one
given TNT passed loads back to RM under the downstream access system
it seemed TNT were struggling under the volume and when it got too much just pushed it to RM
at xmas amazon were sending loads via special delivery in the last few posting days to try and reach xmas delivery
it got to the point where amazon were putting specials in with normal amazon packet traffic

Majority of my orders come via Royal Mail - and hope it stays that way! So quick and efficient. (I order alot from Amazon :o not MSE but I like books and stuff).

I remember ordering via Arsenal website and they had Royal Mail, then they changed to a different carrier, it was chaos and parcels got lost and stolen and then they went back to Royal Mail, much better!!

Ive ordered some books on the 10th (Tuesday), and got email last night to say they were despatched using Home Delivery Network yesterday. This was using the super saver free delivery - Im in no hurry for them - study books, so the longer they take to come the longer I can put of studying them:D

I ordered a watch and book (coming to £15+ so eligable for free super saver delivery)

Was offered a months free trial of 'prime' just before the checkout, which I understood was 'next day delivery' both items in stock, ordered thursday, when amazon confirmed my order they said it would be delivered the following tueday-not what I call next day, even considering it included the weekend!

Mental note to self....cancel the trial WELL before the free trial period ends, £49 a year for super saver time scale delivery..no thanks I'll stick to free super saver delivery!

I placed an order on 5th June with the super saver free delivery, it was despatched on 9th June and I am still waiting for the order to arrive. In the past when I have placed orders using the free delivery things have always arrived pretty quickly, don't ever remember waiting more than a couple of days after despatch to receive an order
