cabvol,
Firstly I'm sorry to hear what you've been through, and I can't believe people treated you like that it's disgusting, they're a disgrace!
When I started this thread I was very stressed and didn't know much about the CAB as I hadn't used them for years (about 10 years ago i went with a friend and they were brilliant!) I think I just had a shock how hard it was to contact them even by phone, but times have changed and it's totally different now, and now I know that I totally understand.
I now realise how busy they are and how most are volunteers, and I know you do a good job, I was just upset, people think it's so easy to go bankrupt but when you go through struggling with debt then facing bankruptcy it's a living nightmare!! I am so very sorry to have caused upset I really didn't mean it, the past few weeks have been stressful, but it obviously gets very stressful for the advisors too! Which is something we don't realise. And even then some of you still come on here to help others, that's amazing!!!
I'm so so sorry I truly am, I hope you're ok and I hope I haven't caused too much distress. Infact I'm gonna try and delete my original post as I don't want to hurt anyone else. Then I'll go back to filling in my bankruptcy forms.
sorry again
marste xMe before I found this forum
And me after going through BR with everyone's help :j0 -
cabvol
that is absolutely disgusting what happened to you, some people are just scum. The CAB office in my area, Allerdale, is brilliant, they have helped me so much for well over a year and I am so grateful. Not only did they offer their debt managment skills but their telephone, secretarial skills and in my opinion councelling. I don't know how you were feeling about the job before the incident the other day but do remember you offer people alot and apart from some of the idiots who turn up the others are very grateful for the job you do. You are not a t##t, the no brains idiot who did that to you is the t##t. I find it hard to understand why some people are so evil. You take care of yourself.0 -
Oh poor cabvol, he has a bad day at work, and i agree it was a bad day and more than he should have to put up with, but does that excuse him coming on here and treating me like they treated him

I dont think so
I give up my spare time to help on here and i will be damed (and probebly will be) if im going to bear the brunt of his frustrations
cabvol you have acted no better towards me than those T**ts did to you, and i didnt deserve it either
All i did was cut and past someone elses advice for christ,s sake
edit- For vthose who dont understand my reaction see this thread too http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=931555 Im not her to be a punchbag for someone who has a bad day , a shoulder yes, but not a punchbag:mad:
I find it hard enough posting here with a positive attitude some days to help others through BR without this crap, i still have problems of my own to deal withThats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….

Wo, chill bat !
Ive been trying to avoid commenting on this thread. I think anyone who has had a poor service from CAB or any other organisation has a right to say something about it. I think the organisation I work for has some failings. I too am really sorry for the bad day of cabvol but would have to say ive never had so much as a slightly cross word with any of my clients, nor have any of the staff / vols at my bureau experienced anything like described. Got to say that whilst I like to think im a nice guy, id of decked both of them if that were me ! If a job stresses you so much then maybe it is not the job for you cabvol, I hope you find some peace but if someone wants to raise issues about the CAB that is their right and I support them in that.

I have had good and bad from the CAB... I think it depends on the person you are dealing with and just how stretched they are.
We were misadvised on benefits we could collect (one person working the other not, told we couldn't receive family credit as it was then) which then had a knock on effect on my health and in the end meant we lost our house.
But on the other hand, they were brilliant dealing with my concerns on unfair dismissal, taking the claim to court and dealing with the adjudication service plus also giving advice on divorce proceedings, putting me in touch with a divorce lawyer (free one hour consultation) and arranging for me to see the single parent advisor whilst at the same time calming me down and making sure I knew everything would be ok and I wouldn't be left out on the streets.
Even with my first experience with them, they are a wonderful service and will do their best for you.....just sometimes they do not have all the information there. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
