I used to crave Aero bars - well, that was my excuse anyway:D0

Its strange how our bodies work isn't it?
I'm 35wks too, smell cravings is creosote. I had to go and buy some and have been out in the garage taking a sneaky sniff often. H doesn't approve so its all done in secrecy. Also have a thing for the smell of tar. Thankfully there are roadworks nearby so have been taking DD for her daily walk to 'see the diggers' very happily;)
Food wise its carrots, cucumber and beansprouts. Uncooked so are all crunchy. Is just typical, the one time I can use the excuse of cravings to excuse eating chocolate I can't face the stuff at all:mad:
Hope all is well with your pregnancy and you're getting ready for the birth0 -
Thanks evilwitch - you too!
At least you're not eating the creosote - that would be bad :eek:Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet...0 -
With my second pregnancy, I craved toothpaste. I never brushed my teeth so much in my life! :rotfl:
It does disappear straight after the birth though, thankfully, so at least you haven't got that long to go, OP.Good luck with everything! :j
And LOL at the hoover! :rotfl:0 -
Definitely an iron deficiency. I get anaemia and craved ice cubes to chew!MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

I agree you're probably anaemic. I couldn't take the iron tablets from MW with my pregnancies, but discovered SpaTone liquid sachets which I took in fresh orange juice, which just happened to be one of my cravings - along with several bags of satsumas.
I also craved petrol (to sniff), and have never waxed the furniture as much before, sniffed marker pens too.
With DS1 it was vegetable soup. With DS2 it was pear drops by the kilo! With DS3 it was satsumas till my poor bowels were fit to burst (sorry if too much info!), and with DS4 it was crunching polo mints, which I usually can't stand, and I hate it when I hear someone crunching hard sweets. I totally went of my usual food, in fact any food was pretty unappetising. The cravings and the lack of interest in food disappeared as soon as the baby was born.
I knew a lady who craved liver and cabbage so badly that one day she ate it raw because she couldn't wait for it!!One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
I used to eat sticks of chalk by the packetful with my first and I went through a jar of marmite every otherday.
My daughter used to carry a bag of soil covered new potatoes round with her to sniff,it went everywhere with her.She used to get very upset without it.

:rotfl: :rotfl: mine was the smell of creosote too, I used to stand next to fence up the road and keep sniffing it. Never thought of buying my own duh!!!!!!! and tar, mind you have not been pregnant for over 20 years and still love the smell of tar but not obessive now, can walk past, dont stand for 15 mins just breathing it in. This was all with 2nd pregnancy. With the 1st it was Tippex although its a bit worrying now as aparently thats solvent abuse:eek:whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Hi everyone,
With ds2, I just couldn't help but chew on a sponge (not eat it, but just the feel of it between my teeth). It had to be an artificial one too!

I used to be sooo tempted by firelighters... I would spend about ten minutes breathing in the fumes before reluctantly lighting the fire. Petrol too, loved it.
Mind you, I still love the smell of both, and the 'baby' is 15 years old now:eek:.
Best of luck with the rest of the pregnancy... but stay away from the laundry in the meantime:rotfl: .I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.
