One previously suspended seller set up over 100 buying accounts and targeted Q&A posters using a selling ID, and then went on the rampage across various categories.

They left over 1000 negative comments, resulting in a fair few sellers being suspended for seller non-performance. Even though the negs were cancelled within 2 or 3 days, the sellers have remained suspended.

Initially it was thought that there was about 15 accounts involved, but over 100 were subsequently found to be linked. I was speaking to somebody within T&S about it (outside of ebay!!), and it surprised even me just how tenuous some of the links between accounts were. Same password, previous addresses, IP address, computer ID's.

Since the SNP rules were tightened, eBay have REALLY cracked down on linked accounts. Many suspended sellers, rightfully or wrongfully, have set up new accounts to continue selling, or converted old buying accounts to sell, but ebay are pulling them as well.
