Current prices do indeed run from 1 October 2003.
Regards 'following the sheep': I cannot say what will happen because I do not know myself, but I know they are absolutely committed to provide the best possible rates they can (where possible) for consumers whatever happens with the competition or the marketplace.
As for 'Free utilities for life'; this is not likely to have happened yet as the opportunity to do this was only launched very recently. It's still early days. The offer (as all offers are) is open to anybody - or not - if they wish to take it up, or not. That's up to the individual.
We will have to wait and see...Mark E

Must thank you for your notification this morning, I did not know about the British Gas Hike in price. Unfortunately I am one of those people who is quite lethargic when it comes to keeping completely up to date with domestic billing issues and these notifications do help as solid reminders.
I was surprised to read at the beginning of the article the feedback from Ross and I agree with Galstonian that there certainly was an acusatory undercurrent there and also by the overt finger wagging from Lisa. I am sure that the majority of people cast scrutiny on if it is a better deal for themselves and will it keep more cash in their pocket rather than than casting dispersion on the medium used to convey the deals to them.
I was also impressed by the transparency shown by Mark Todd, it is rare to have a company give such intricate feedback to individual questions, I am sure many of us would like to have many other companies react in the same way.
It sounds like a posting full of platitudes but I seriously cannot fault the article, resultingly I have just moved away from British Gas today.0 -
Thanks Dan-Boy - it's appreciated. Overall though i do welcome the 'critique' of course i get prickly just like anyone else when criticised - but it is my wish that the site allows good discussion and funnily enough - i think most of the issues raised are now resolved, and probably more effectively so because of the chat.
Best of all - you saved money

I was watching discussion about price comparison specially people working for Telecom plus. I made few enquiries from telecom plus web site & Frequent trader none of them come back to me with price as I told them my present supplier & because they cannot beat the price. Now I openly challenge If any body from telecom plus agent or preacher can give me exact one figure how much it will cost year consumpion of gas 17121kwh & Elecricity 3324. I am already get supply from other which I am not going mention but let you know after the figure & I am sure telecom plus cannot beat their price. Telecom plus only getting publicity but not cheaper. I am sure any agent got the guts to give one figure for each. Hopefully their maths be as good as their publicity stunt.0

Don`t know if you`ve read all the previous posts about TP but they admit that they do have three different tariffs,so it should be easy for them to give you an exact price per unit on the consumption figures you provide in your post.Whether they tell you about the hidden charges,I don`t know!
Anyway regardless or not, don`t be shy in revealing your supplier who can`t be beaten on price.0 -

If you wish to compare any of the Telecom Plus tariffs you will find that these are all listed at https://www.energylinx.co.uk.
On the first screen where you input your details please tick the box which says check Direct or tariffs with unusual conditions.
If you do find a cheaper deal then you are able to sign up to any of the Telecom Plus tariffs from there.
Incidentally we notice that their is often discussion re Atlantic Electric and Gas. You will also find all Atlantic Electric and Gas tariffs listed and again you can sign up online to any of these.
Hope this helps.

Jiji,
I am a TP distributor. You did not give your supply region. Based on my region (Seeboard) Energylinx give a figure of £445, I have double checked and they are correct (as you would expect them to be).

Hi all,
Well I've finally done it.
After many months of deliberation, and much research, I've finally decided to change my gas and electricty supplier.
The company that I have chosen, will save me much more than two of my current monthly direct payments to my existing provider(British Gas).
The company is, (yes payless, its christmas come early for him), TELECOM PLUS.
Mark E, please pm me with all I need to know and do, in order to transfer my business to you.
I shall start a diary thread regarding the progress of the conversion as soon as Mark E contacts me

Hi all,
Hi Alared,
You're right, but, they are going to save me over £100.00 quid per year. Not bad really.
If I dont like the service that they provide, or any conditions that they may impose, (such as a tie in clause) then I shall cancel and move to the next provider down the list(Scottish Power).
Don't worry, I'll be honest and truthful when writing the transfer diary thread.
