Tesco Recycling Machine - Changes

Apologies if this has already been covered.

Our local store was one of the first to have recycling machines, and you recieved green clubcard points, 4 items = 1 point, (ok, maybe not much, but if you want them for clubcard deals 1 item = 1p,), were a family of 4, and recycled everything we could, and on average week we would recieve between 50 and 150 points.

But now Tesco have changed their reward policy, they will only give out points on soft drinks cans, and they now equal 2 points.

I dont know about anyone else, but Im not going to carry on takeing all my recycling up there, it takes an average hr a time, as the machines are tempermental, so its back to the council fortnightly collections.

my local one doesnt give any points on anything, and never has. I never use it and just use the local collections now. Nobody else seems to use it either!

Ive never heard of one of these machines! How does it work?

they trailed these recycling machines, situated in corner of car park, yoy put your recycling in, it registers and pays you tesco points.

re Tesco can change their policy, I appriciate that, but as with all businesses, its in their favour!

i was told that our branch would not operate with points because of kids putting bricks etc in

I know the stores that they have started putting these recycling machines in they didnt add the points option.

from my personal point of view, Im collecting the points for clubcard deals, and the points earned from recycling, made a big difference.

Course its going to be in Tescos favour.

10 people recyle, old system 100 point, new system 10 points, lost 90 points.
x that by 100 people Tesco havesaved 9000 points, = £90.00 spend less money tesco have to pay out.

Thats to keep the food prices low. You can always get your green points and pay more for your food if you want!
