Hi Guys,
it has taken me 3 days to read this thread:eek: . lots of fab ideas.
I'm a jewellery crafty type of person so I'd better get started. GOt some lovely beads last october that my sister drooled over..guess what she's getting this year?
Not on a crafty note.......however I got some cheap xmas cards for kids classmates today from the CardFactory, they're selling them off cheap as this year's cards go on sale on August 18th:eek:

I made a door sign for my son for a present last year. He's a huge Dennis the Menace fan so I set out a text box in Word and added his name to it using WordArt and a stripey background. This I then printed out and mounted onto a piece of thick cardboard I had squirrelled away. To decorate it I traced off some pictures of Dennis and Gnasher from an incomplete puzzle [off the box] he'd bought for 10p and transferred them to some white cardboard I already had. I cut the drawings out carefully and coloured them in and then drew a bigger picture of Dennis for the centre and stuck all of them on around the name. He was chuffed with it and it really only took time and cost next to nothing. I am artistically challenged at the best of times but I was pleased with it and it won him a prize in the Beano to cap it off. You might not get away with it for older children but it could easily be adapted for younger ones according to their favourite characters.

Crikey cookiedough38 - well done. I only attempted bath bombs once and they were an absolute disaster. I've still got loads of stuff left to make them so have you any tips in case I try to make them again?0

I found a water spray bottle very useful to prevent making them too wet. What went wrong with them?Debt free wannabe

Aril - love the sound of the denis the menace door sign.......:j
Well, I'm getting in a pickle with my 'pickled bums' (excuse the pun)........did about four this morning, dead fiddly for my fingers, and can't seem to get them in the jar without the knot showing ! Have to go back to the instructions I think............and there was me thinking I'd fill a jar up this morning..........ran out of cotton wool anyway so it was obviously not meant to be.
I've really got to get started on some of 'projects' otherwise I'll forget what I was going to do and more importantly, how to do it..........Mary
