Okay, I went to the opticians yesterday, so now I have two working eyes - hurrah! Been having a bad week craft wise. I don't know if its just me or if everyone gets them. Everything I do seems to look rubbish, I'm not happy with the decorated filofax for my Mum, and I can't decide how to decorate my box for my cards. I might just stick to making a few cards until my inspiration returns.
Everyone has off times, ask my OH, I have more than most :rotfl: As the person who created the filofax you are your own worst critic, why don't you post a pic and we'll let you know what we think? We're all friends here to help each other out aren't we:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

Hhmmm....you've reminded me of summat I was going to do last year for me muvva Steel. There's a vent in the wall of the lounge from when the gas heating was replaced a few years back & Mum feels the draft from it. She can be a tad 'head-strong' & keeps covering it up with cardboard which is obviously not a good idea.
I was going to get some bits of MDF to make a three-piece gubbings, along the lines of a hinged fireguard, but with it being relatively mild down here, I forgot all about it:o
Perhaps I need to make a 'to do' list.....hang on then. I'll have to have a re-read to see what I've already said I'm going to do:p .....Can you buy memory sticks for human brains too?:rotfl:

rainmac.................think that could be an idea.......decpatch the boxes......be a lot easier I think and wrapping paper is cheap enough. (adds more to 'stuff to get/do list')............lol
BMF - no...........you can;t get memory sticks for the brain.........believe me I've tried...........think its on one of my never ending lists somewhere............lol:rotfl:Mary

The knitted paper chains look lovely. I might have a go at that this year! Also I'm hoping to make some little sewn felt stockings for the tree and cards with reindeer handprints on them from the little one once he's here.
I can't wait for Christmas this year. All my friends think I'm bonkers because i've got so many pressies. I'm just waiting for the annual moaning about costs...then I can feel smug:)( and start my shopping in the Jan sales next year!)2022 Comp total (prizes + free spins): £494.81 #20 £12 a day Jan: £382.95/£372 #57 360 1p challenge: £17.70 £10 a day Feb: £571.09/£280 March: £311.96/£3100 -
What a fantastic thread guys!
There are obviously a lot of talented people on here.
I've now got the bug and decided that I am going to sort out all my cross stitch stuff. Haven't touched it since DD was born as haven't had time.
I think I will also attempt HM fudge and HM choc truffles this Xmas to go in my grandparents hamper.
Off to dig out my craft box now...:j0 -
Rainmac - I think its a great idea to decopatch the boxes, I started on mine but got it wrong, went in a huff and started pulling bits off it. I don't think I've got enough ribbons to cover the joins. Decopatch would be a lot more forgiving. I went in a mood with the filofax and pulled that apart too. I wanted it to look professional but it ended up looking naff!
sammy-kaye18 - I'm sure you'll have better results than me! Good luck!0 -
Oh dear Melissa...............sorry it all went wrong......sounds like decopatch would be a lot easier..........I'll opt for the easiest route any time. Not very good if things don't go right.............could see me throwing the box out of the window......................lol
Just realised................got ex foster lad's birthday third week of July then my sons 40th beginning of August:eek: ............got all the bits and pieces for ex foster lad and my son desparately wanted some Beatles figures so I'll sort that out. And he fell in love with the retro sweet boxes I did at Easter for the older grandchildren so I've got the box all ready to do that for him. Just need to get myself to Woolworths for the sweets.
Just seems all of a sudden I've got 'stuff' to do.................. I'll have to do myself a timetable I think.............and make sure I stick to it !Mary
