Its terrible isn't it. This site is meant to promote money saving, but I end up spending more money, never mind though, the way I look at it is if I can't afford it I don't buy it, my kids are spoilt rotten and there are far worse things I could be spending my money on, its not like I go out every night getting sloshed. So my crafting is my vice! (that and smoking and eating cake).0

yep i'm the same. don't drink or smoke and i can't even eat cake i'm diabetic.
moneysaving is a laugh i've spent more money than ever since reading these pages. lol but at least most of it was at a bargain price.

Same with me craftygranny, I tend to buy most of my crafty bits off ebay or in the sales. I attribute my stingeyness to my Dad!0

Evening everyone,
I've just read through this entire thread and I have to say - I'm impressed! You guys have some fantastic ideas!
It's going to be a very MSE Christmas for me this year as I'm starting a masters course at uni so I won't be working  ! This thread is just what I needed - I'll start work on some projects over the next month (before uni starts).
rainmac - thank you so much for taking the time to post photos - they are really helpful. Your cards and door hangers are awesome! (*mental note* steal rainmac's ideas) Could I just ask what you do envelope wise with your homemade cards? I think that plain white envelopes are quite boring - do you do anything to jazz them up at all?
mrsm - your creations are superb! You should start up your own shop (if you've not already!)"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0 -

No problem! Posting the pics helps my brain to knock one present off the list and think about starting the next one!You are absolutely right about plain envelopes. I occasionally use nice stickers on the outside and also put a piece of patterned paper on the inside flap of the envelope so it looks pretty when opened (try and match it up to what I've used on the card). I put the paper on the inside of the envelope flap and line it up so it doesn't cover the glue. Does that make sense? To be honest I usually send plain envelopes cos it's easier but do jazz them up if I think about it, have the materials and also the time
Good luck with the masters:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
