Anyone know where to get cheap little diaries from - the slimline sort ? I had an idea (think melissa did one earlier ) about covering some as extra christmas pressies but looked at the on-line sites for Tesco and Woolworths and what I saw weren't really what I'd call cheap.
Oh and over on the Freebie Board there's a site where you can get an Astrology Chart printed out. Might be an idea for an extra pressie.Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

there is glitter/confetti you can get that is specifically for the bath, as well as powdered colouring. I got my colouring from bathbomb.biz in little sachets. Just make sure and use a tiny amount, it doesn't look like much but once you add any oil and water you get a deeper colour (i ended up with lavender bombs in a really deep blue rather than a lavender colour)
Thanks , just having a look at the site just now...looks good
Did you use regular essentials oils for the lavendar bombs??0 -

wilkos. instore. poundshops. if you're covering them the outside doesn't matter too much, but do check the inside. some are better quality than others.
keth (who is doing the same thing. lol.)

I've made bath salts with food colouring and you only use a teeny tiny amount of colour and it's fine, doesn't stain anything.
Thanks Rainmac
Was thinking about using the salts instead of the soap....... not sure
thought the soap would look good but if it gets to warm may end up just all stuck to the bottom of the bags and in clumps0 -
Hi
Thanks to all on the site for all your inspiration. Since Sept I have made presents for 36 family and friends. it has cost me the sum of £97.35!!!
Made all the women the same, door hangers (thanks rainmac)xx i bought them from Bakerross.co.uk and paid £3.00 for 6.
Also made Memo/shopping lists for fridge. Used Mount Board in different colours from The Range (79p for A1 size - huge) pack of shopping list pads from discount sort (99p for 6) and a decorated them. Bought self adhesive magnet from ebay so they stick to fridge.
Our local QD store is selling wooden boxes/chests with brass hinges and catches (£2 or £3 for a set of two) Used 1 of them and a cheap photo frame (99p also QD) to make a set and used the decopatch idea to cover them. Look amazing.
Came up with a really good idea. Made a couple of individual hampers. Made one for SIL "Girls Night In Hamper" Bottle of Wine (half Price) Bar of Choc, Pretty Woman DVD £2 and bubbles all in a basket wrapped in cellophane.
Amazed how much I have saved this year. Really looking forward to it.0 -
I am lookingfor some new ideas, and was perusing hawkins bazaar and came across this:

which I think would be quite easy to make so may give it a go!
Might try and give some magnetic memo pads a go! Thanks for the idea pickles!:)

Maria - I love that shade! I hope you don't mind if I borrow your idea - we have a big window in our door and right now I have a curtain over it but I hate that we can't get any light in through it during the day! That will work perfectly!
I saw those mini marshmallows in Asda yesterday, and kept thinking - oh I can make snowman soup - but didn't buy them as I don't know who I would make it for.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -
just to let you know I was in au natural on friday and they had beautiful ribbon reels for £1.50 and £1.20. I think they are for wrapping presents, but I'm going to use for my christmas cake and for finishing some of my sewing projects.
Managed to get some really pretty christmas fabric as I want to make a noel fabric hanging, but am yet to find a good pattern to use - anyone any ideas?
Oh and I spent the weekend making a roman blind for the nursery. It was my first attempt and I'm so pleased with myselfthat's really spurred me on...
r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
I posted this http://www.getabagsealer.com/heat-sealer-order.html on the snowman thread yesterday. I've been pondering on it for a while as an idea to make your own cello bags & things, as well as for the purpose intended!
I think I've seen similar in places like Woolies & Dyas & probably made by JML or such, but never really taken much notice of the price. I do know I've considered--in those fleeting moments as you do--getting one to seal up the bags of frozen veg & things, but also wondered if it would stop me eating a whole bag of maltesers in one sitting :rotfl:
