sammy - whats your dad got in the way of spatulas/wooden spoons ? You could always get a few of those and tie them with a piece of ribbon or raffia.
For the herbs.......if you could get one of those 'indoor gardening' tool sets they're ideal when seeds need potting on and are still very small.

dora - read your post (twice).............:rotfl: You are clever......a scroll saw ? Crikey, I wouldn't know where to start..............

I'm going to make a maze book for a swap, so if it works out, then people will be getting one of those each as part of their present :)

Here are some instructions for a maze book, they seem really clear ans simple to follow.

I bought a set of 3 wooden spoons from Tesco recently for under a £1, they are slightly different sizes but have rounded ends like normal spoons :D

Sweet boxes or jars - fill a box or jar with sweets. Boxes like these... http://www.wickes.co.uk/Tool-Storage/11-Compartment-Organiser/invt/506616&temp=largeimage&layout=popups.

    Journal jar info... http://www.lightplanet.com/mormons/ywc/journaljars.htm

I'm going to make sweetie boxes and jars and 365 fact jars. Not sure I know anyone who'd 'get' the journal jar?

    HTH :D

Here's another journal jar link Maria, this time with a picture! http://organizedchristmas.com/adult-journal-jar

rainmac - thanks for the journal jar link (lightplanet)........think the list of questions are better than those on other sites.
Thinking of doing one for my sons............might have to explain it first though...............lol

Looking through allfree craft site yesterday I came across a little idea -think it was under the 'kids' section................pair of socks, stuffed with lavender or someother scented stuff.....tie them with ribbon and give them to someone labelled 'smelly socks'.....................lol
Trouble is, the only socks I've got (I had them given me and will never wear them) are a bit 'girlie' and this sort of pressie I'd think would be better for men. Did think of looking in the charity shops for a pair of kiddies socks.......be smaller and take less to fill up.
    (Oh eck........thats another 'thing to do'................. )

I quite like those - helps scrape extra sauce from the edges round the pan :p
