Hidden detail refering to credit reports - Reserve usage still wouldn't be reported to CIFAS et al.

SAR 'em up too and check. ;)

Yes sorry, it wouldn't show up on your basic Credit Report. And you're right, reserve cannot be reported to Cifas etc - it isn't fraud related!

I was specifically pointing out that there is actually hidden data though..... I was shocked when I seen my N Hunter report (got it sorted) but shows that little things can affect you without your knowledge.

Thanks for your reply - but this really all misses the point - its not about how they obtained the information. The more crucial point about this (as far as I am concerned) is that having the reserve and using it affects your ability to get credit.

Can these reserve fees be frozen at all??

My friend is in a real mess becasue of this Barclays Reserve. She went over into the reserve and has been charged £88 this month. She just can't seemt o get out of the reserve so keeps getting charged.

I would love to help her but financially I am unable to.

She is a single parent, working, and just trying to get by. No fancy cars, holidays etc (before anybody starts!!). She earns enough to cover day to day expenses but her washer has broken and she has ended up in a pickle.

I am going to suggest going to CAB. Its so sad :(

Go to Customer Relations and claim financial hardship.

From what i gather you can use as much as you want however you want but it will cost £22 for 5 days use and £22 every five days thereafter.

Hi, I have just been charged £22 for going into my reserve bu £2.57. I have spoken to customer services about a refund and written a several letters asking for a refund as a valued customer. Going over my overdraft limit (£300) is something that I have not done before! There answer is no! I am shocked by this and am now planning on closing my barclays account. Has anyone know of any way to approach barcalys and get results rather than the computer says no!

I have just had the same letter today

I have gone over by £6 or so and i have been charged £22

To say im pi**ed off is a understatement

I have never in 15 years or so with Barclay's gone into the red and didn't even realise i had this stupid reserve thing on it the first place, i was under the impression that it was a overdraft only to find out now that i have been opted into something i didnt say yes to!

I think im gonna change banks as well because if this is there idea of helping you out i dont want any more help from them again.

Put simply, if I may, if the financial institutions opt you into something not of your choosing, it is for their benefit, not yours!
