Just realised that my outgoing journey from Waterloo East was a peak time train. However, the rail companies honoured my 'off-peak' tickets to Dover Priory due to my connecting train being delayed. As a consequence, I have effectively saved a lot more money by not having to pay a peak time fare.0

Well 'a lot' would have been £1.50 on a single ticket - rather more on a return
But the off peak ticket was valid anyway - no evening restrictions on that particular route0 -
Hi,
Does anyone know of the cheapest journey from Cambridge to Nottingham going on Saturday 27th March (after midday) and returning on Sunday 28th March (after 10am) for two adults each with a young persons railcard?0 -
Suggest you try split ticketing at Peterborough - you might get it at around £20 return using advance singles
They haven't been released for your dates yet though - not for the Peterboro-Nottingham leg. Cambridge Peterborough are there.0 -

I just went to look on First Great Western to see if they ever have advance tickets from Peterborough - Notts but it seems they don't0 -

Incorrect. Dover Priory was and is not my true destination. I live in the North and my destination was/will be towards the East. Evening restrictions applied for my destination and I have saved 'a lot' of money. :j0 -
