Might it be a good idea to post your information on the thread that is now apparently out of date?

Hi need some help please. I am buying a train ticket which involves a change at a statiom, but the thing is that the arrival time of my stop and departure time of the new train are exactly the same?! How will it be possible to make the train change in this situation? Please help thanks!0

It might not be possible to make the change, you'll have to buy tickets for a later second train (if that makes sense!)
If you look up the journey on eg. nationalrail.co.uk or another ticket website the train times it gives you will usually give you enough time to change.0 -
National Express Coaches are doing a promotion 'Bum on Seats' for less than £5. I was sent this info by them and the link worked (you continue until you get to a diary page which shows the lowest price each day). When I repeated the process it didn't work, if this happens, contact them and they will send you a link. The lowest price for a single journey is £3, then £5, then £7 and continues escalating.
Do your Christmas shopping early and personally deliver them if you have several or heavy pressies - probably cheaper and definitely much more reliable than the Post plus you get to your family and/or friends.
Happy shopping :santa2::santa2::santa2:Regards

What is the station? The journey planner should not show you a connection if it's less than the standard connecting time at that station, with a default of 5 minutes.
If the change is between the London Underground and the mainline, the times given for the underground are purely notional - you can ignore them.0 -
Hi folks,
I was hoping that people in the know could help me. This is the first time that I've tried to be organised and book tickets far in advance.
I am looking to do the following journey:
Warrington Bank Quay - London
Out 19/2/10
Return 21/2/10
I cannot see whether the advance tickets have been released yet on raileasy.co.uk or thetrainline.com. A trainline.com operative told me yesterday that they hadn't.
The website is showing single tickets at around £33.00. I am getting a bit twitchy so don't want to hang around if these are the advanced tickets. But equally, if cheaper ones become available later, I'm going to kick myself!
Could someone help me clarify??
Many thanks!!

The Advance tickets are out now and you can get Advance singles for £11 each one way, but buy your tickets from a Train company like East Coast Trains or Virgin trains as they don't charge you booking/card fees.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
Thanks for that. Looks like I was too late to get the really cheap ones. They really do get snapped up quickly, even 8-9 weeks in advance!0

Try something like this. I just got an off peak RETURN Crewe-Shepperton (Middx) for next Sun/Mon for just over £62. This involves Crewe-Euston then a tube and a SouthWest train the other side of London for nearly an hour. To get this from my local station, Hartford, I also have to buy 2 singles Hartford-Crewe and back for about £7. So £69ish. You are not limited to specific trains with an off peak return like you are with advance tickets and can in fact travel back on any train Mon afternoon, even through the rush hour.
I tried to go Hartford-Shepperton but there are no off-peak returns showing. You have to do it in singles and it's over £130.
The trick is to try going from intermediate stations to find an off peak return. Also try going to somewhere the other side of London, it can be worth wasting those parts of the tickets and if you pick the right place it will give you the tube journey you want in London free. You are allowed a break of journey on the return leg of off-peak returns so no probs.0
