If you visit web site under Guardian Roof where you will see the answer to conservatories that are to hot in the summer and to cold in the winter. No need to change the windows as it is no heavier than a glass roof.

Thread is over 3yrs old...........................Spam reported........
  • Hi there,
Have a look at this . Do a search on roof-revive or just add a co.uk to the end.
They basically put an insulation blanket beneath the poly roof, fix a wooden frame to the underside of the existing frame them plaster board and skim.
    Seem to get good reviews.

Buyer beware - potentially contravenes building regs, only a two year guarantee, voids any existing warranty, etc. If this method is as good as they claim then why isn't it fitted as standard on all conservatories?

Theres more spam in this thread than "Spamalot".....................
  • I know this is an old thread, but I found this while researching doing this. I found a company called conservatoryroofprojects. Just add the .co.uk on the end. I got a quote for my 4 x 3 metre Edwardian and they came back with a quote over £6,000. Much more than I am replacing my complete conservatory for as supply only. I've just emailed roof-revive for a ball-park figure, hopefully that will be much much cheaper. Watch this space.

Oh ff sake.....................Can the mods please delete this thread as its wall to wall advertising........
  • No, don't delete it, why is it wall to wall advertising, it's an advice forum and I needed some pointers, which I've taken, and now I'm about to leave feedback on the company I found.

They are expensive, they quoted me £2960 for a 4 x 3 roof. Extortionate amount of money for what they actually do. I will stick to a new fangled glass roof.
