These are quite early! My local one is in October.

They will generally runevery 4 weeks but they want to turn over as many customers as possible, I went to one in November but they then had another 2 after I had been. Book though if you want the voucher for the extra points, they do not give them to you unless you have the special voucher.

Now 3 for 2 and all these deals etc can be used but its when its totalld up at the end that when i gotta be over 50 quid?

Yes, you would have to have a total when all of the offer prices have been deducted. Be careful though, if you buy 3 x £8, 3 x £6 and 3 x £5 then it will take the 3 x £5 off as 3 for 2's, not £8, £6 and £5. Does that makes sense?? I got caught out like this last year!

boo hoo - i work mon-thurs evenings so can't make any of these! don't get paid if i don't go in & no holidays left.

They are open until 10pm but beware, get their early as the shelves are not restocked and the shelves are empty when you arrive after 8.30. You will find that they clear the shelves and then bring in new stock so it might be worth you going to several to check what new lines they bring in further into November and December. Hope this helps!!

you def have to book? can you book online? or through one of those machines? (edited: the boots.com site doesnt say anything about booking...)

i was on the phone to boots advantage card a few mins ago and the wonderful woman who gave me 250points for calling and asking about a coupon i had (long parenting club story...) gave me the usual spin about the christmas days but also mentioned that there are TONS of triple point weekends around late november/all through december.

so i guess thoeritically you could go and get triple points (my local is doing the christmas day on a friday) and 12000 points on 50pounds worth of stuff? do you think this is possible? Im going to hold off buying my babies nappies until i see triple points!!

also i have a parenting club thing that says triple points on huggies.... does this mean if i buy huggies on a triple point weekend I get x6 points?! 24points a pound?!

  • No, you do not have to book, however if you do then you will be sent a voucher for you and a friend to get the extra 1200 points - without this voucher you CANNOT get the 1200 points per £50!!

They do not let you combine voucher deals with triple points as you get triple points on the basic amounts earned (4 per £1), not on any vouchers used so if you used the voucher on a triple weekend it would be a waste. You are better of spending it now, o the online site they are offering 200 extra points at the moment on big packs of huggies so I would use it now and get your extra 200 points per pack as well. you also get 2 large packs for £16 so 2 packs of those would be an extra 400 points, plus your triple points voucher, 192 points so that would be 592 points for 2 large packs of nappies bought for £16.

Back to the 1200 points though - you need the voucher for them to scan through the 1200 points, in the same way you would get them from the machine, you have to call the number on the website, you cannot get them from the machine (this may have changed though for this year, I have not seen this). When I went last year I was also given a 10% voucher when I went in the door so the girl put through the voucher for 1200 points, then she put the 10% discount voucher through so I got away with loads of points this way so always give the vouchers in that order!

The triple points are nothing to do with vouchers so if you used a 1200 points voucher then it would not convert to 3 x 1200 points, it just gives triple on what you buy in the shop on basic points and then x them by 3.

    Hope that makes sense!!
  • I forgot to say, there are always triple points days nearer Xmas at the weekend because of the shabby state of high street sales at the moment (just like Homebase who seem to have 10% off every weekend now) and the amount of competition there is in selling the same things. However, you will not beat the 1200 points evening as they give so many other things away so you are better off going to that to be honest, like I said, I got an extra 10% off, they had the 3 for 2's (also with extra points on them) plus 6 of the Warners Toys because of how much money I spent (last year they had Bucks Fizz and chocolates as well - plus it means a night shopping without the kids!! Weird being able to leave your trolley as there is no child in it I can tell you). They were almost giving it away when I went last year!!

how do you book then because i rung the number and was told you just turn up?
  • When I bought my stuff last christmas I batched my 3 for 2s into the most expensive down to the cheapest but the SA aid that the till would do it automatically like that. The first year they did it it was only on the first 50 so I went through the tills several times. Last year it was on every 50. I also bought a printer and the little lad (sa) gave me some paper for free. Then there was a better one one in a bundle with a camera onboots.com so they let me have a refund keep the paper and the points. What a bargain. Then i used my points in the sale in feb when the goods were on clearance at 1/4 price for birthday presents

yea there's nothing on the website about needing to book in order to get the extra points and the lady didn't say anything on the phone when she spoke about the christmas days...

also i did manage to combine a coupon for double points with a triple point weekend. I gave the lady my coupon and my reciept doubled the points and then tripled it! :D not sure if it should have done this but it was wonderful, i got something like 600 points on 30pounds of shopping! I was kinda hoping this would work across most Boots since this happened in Galloons Reach which isn't holding a Christmas day anytime soon. I'm going to go to the weekend anyways as I'm sure I'll need some more nappies than the token 28pk I bought in order to qualify for freebies from the parenting club!

I hadn't realised that clearance items could be bought with points! a very important point to consider for the Jan sales!

  • i know this is off topic, but i have a burning question....

ive amassed nearly £120 in advantage points but i still don't know what i can and cannot spend it on... can i just use it to buy purchases instead of using cash or a credit card say?!... can i use it to buy from boots.com??

    regards,
  • Sadly, you can't spend it on boots.com.

You can buy almost anything instore (save for a few specific items), but you have to pay in full with points - you can't top-up with cash.

    Go on, treat yourself!!
