Before I bought my new camera my friend said to be sure and get one with a view finder. I wish I'd remembered that advice. Does anyone else have problems seeing what they're taking in the screen? All I get is reflection! Then I have to find somewhere dark to check what I've taken and maybe delete it and try again! Has anyone got an answer to this problem- not buying another camera!?0

Found it and ordered, can anybody tell me if a 4gb card would be better i.e. video storage etc
The higher the better but be careful because some cameras do not accept 4Gig cards. 2Gig at highest resolution on a 7MP camera is more than enough and for video. Check that your cam can definitely accept larger cards otherwise just get a couple of 2 Gigs.0 -
Don't bother getting a camera that takes AA batteries - trust me you will regret it.
You will have to either keep buying batteries or spend out and buy high capacity rechargables and a charger.
The Lithium Ion rechargable on my Casio EX75 lasts about 200 pics. I have taken it on a 2 week holiday and not even used the charger!! I can guarantee if you are using AAs and take that many pics they will need recharging or replacing.
You can buy replacement batteries fairly cheaply on Ebay for all popular camera models. Basically my camera fitted in the case along with a spare battery and memory card is about the same size as a packet of fags. The battery is similar size to a mobile battery - unlike bulky AAs. And the cameras with higher spec that use AAs often use 4!! Don't fancy carrying that around!
I would reccommend this camera for a 13yr old just cos it's great value and very sleek and has a quick start up for capturing those moments and video is great on it.
Downside is the Ebay seller Clearance Bargains' are Blue but not a biggy. It is well made out of metal unlike some other models. Large 2.6" LCD screen. Yes if treated badly then screen will get damaged but that is the same with all digital equipment.
To the user who complained about not having a viewfinder - I think you will find many slim digital cameras have not got a viewfinder nowadays. If you have problems with glare I can only assume you are taking pictures with the light in the wrong place. Here's a solution - move!!
I have experience of Fuji - good and bad, Canon - consistently very good and after spotting my Dads sexy little camera, Casio. All of these are good brands but Sony, like my sister has, I think are overrated. People pay for the name.
Serious photographers on a budget can now pick up a Professional FILM CANON SLR for about £70 which is ridiculous when you consider these were selling for £3-500 a few years ago.
I think the bottom line is that anyone can now get whatever type of decent camera they like for under £80. Just wish that the government would push fuel prices down like market driven camera manufacturers!!0 -

The Pentax Optio W30. Used it for videos and pics in a swimming pool with fantastic results (and at Thorpe Park today on the wet rides!), and used its predecessor (the W20) in the sea also with great results. The only thing I dont like about the camera is that it takes ages to focus in low light situations. So people have to pose for about 10 seconds when taking pictures in nightclubs. For daytime underwater shots tho... excellent.0 -
