It's great to find balance between pleasing yourselves and pleasing your guests. Given the number of courses you're planning to offer, I see no problem with one course not being to everyone's taste, because they'll still get plenty to eat. Stick with your original plans!

I don't think your being cruel at all. At our wedding the best man had a nut allergy, but he was amazed when he found out we'd asked for a nut free menu. Most people (decent people!) don't expect you to arrange your day around them.. especially if they are awkward to cater for...

Do it your way. It sounds lovely! x

Hi we've chosen a menu which i know someone will find something to eat from, but only because i'm usually the fussy one, so if i'm ok with the menu almost everyone else would be. To be honest if i knew that the menu was something i wouldn't eat i'd eat before i go and then not bother eating the dishes i didn't like, i would be torn though between telling the couple not to waste their money on me and not mentioning it so that i didn't cause a scene.

I would go with what the majority appear to have said.

It is your day, your menu.

If there are people coming who will not like the food tell them to bring a sandwich.

They can always pass on the meat and eat the vegetables.

Have you asked all the other guests for their like and dislikes so you can accommodate their tastes too? Of course not!

    Just enjoy your day!

Incidently, my brother used to have an eating disorder, is still extremely picky when it comes to food... We spoke about it and he basically told us not to waste our money on him... So have spoken to the hotel and they're fine with him bringing in his own food...

Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

No you aren't being cruel, thoughtful, but not cruel! Maybe they only like MIL's mince & dumplings...

Or maybe MIL thinks they only eat plain food because they dont like her cooking:D .Perhaps its a gentle excuse they have come up with for leaving lots of food on the plate at MIL,s house.

HAve what you want! WE gave people a choice of meat or veggie so if they don;t like duck salad and pink lamb then they can have the non-meat meal. There are no other choices.

pick a plain veggie option then give guests the choice of the two. Sorted.

If they are so fussy they won;t eat either then perhaps they cna stay at home or bring their own food.

We've changed our plans several times to suit the people coming (mostly because MIL has badgered us) - we've driven ouselves buggy doing this, and now I'm so sick of the whole thing I'd cancel if it wasn't so close. You have what you want, like the others say there's plenty of other stuff, and they might like it if the try it.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

We had no choices other than Veggie vs Non-Veggie - everyone ate what they were served including the kids! We had smoked chicken breast on oranges, then herb crusted lamb and some cream and fruit thingy which was delicious. The Kids were supposed to have eclairs for pudding but they took 2 minutes longer to bring out and most of them had snaffled the nearest adults pudding before their own arrived!
They even ate the smoked chicken!
Seriously don't worry too much - if food is what is important to you then YOU have what you want :)
