Live Aid 4xDVD for £17.99
The 1985 Live Aid concert, one of the defining events in modern music, is to be released on DVD for the first time. ;D
The concert, split between London and Philadelphia, brought together stars including U2, Queen and Madonna - but has never come out on CD, video or DVD.
As a special bonus get all the details, track listings and free video clips pictures and diary of the day at the Live Aid DVD site.
CDWOW are selling the Live Aid 4 DVD set for £17.99 (free p&p). RRP is £39.99. Can't find it anything like as cheap as that anywhere else. This one is region 0 (region free and so should play on any DVD player but can't guarantee it will work with them all.
Can I suggest that you donate any "saving" direct to the Live Aid Trust.... (whether you use CD-wow or another discount site). I guess its the best way to ensure that the charity gets as much cash as possible.
Many thanks!
Where were you on 13th July 1985? ???
PS - Don't forget to use Martin's permanent cd-wow discount link ;-)

...or if you have an Egg card, follow the 10 per cent cashback link from the Egg homepage and get £1.79 off instead.
NB you can't use any other vouchers in conjunction with this. The site won't accept them.
Here's the link to the Egg cashback section, where you must start from to get your rebate:

I was thrilled to hear this DVD was being released, primarily to have a good recording of Led Zeppelin's 'Stairway to Heaven', which I thought was the best track of the whole event. But Led Zeppelin are just about the only band to refuse to put their contribution (several tracks) on the DVD set, so it's not complete. How miserable can you get? They agreed to give money from a new DVD of theirs to charity instead, but how many people are likely to buy that? Not me, for sure.0

bit confused about donating any savings to live aid - would it not be easier to pay full price for it the first place?
The story about led zepplin where did you read that info?Charles J0 -

It ensures that 100% of what you pay in donation will go to the charity and should also be eligible for gift aid relief where the charity "Band Aid Trust" can claim back 23% of contribution. I'll try and find out if that route is available and whether there is a form for completion to ensure that they can claim this back (not clear on the LiveAid DVD site). :-/
In any case it was all for a good cause and if not then maybe think about making a donation.
I will find out if the gift aid route is available and update here.
Anyone seen at the video clips on the DVD site yet? Brings it all back... See under "The DVD" > "Interactive" and then select the gallery image. Can't wait until the DVD arrives. ::)Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

I think Led Zep are getting the bad press for not allowing their performance be on the DVD. I think they are doing it to protect people having to listen to Phil Collins pants drumming. :P0 -
i think led zepplin are out of order , its for us to decide if the peformance is good enough..and its not the quality it was about the event.....pretentiuos old hiipies... how many copies will not be purchased because of that ...
bottom line is that are "stupid idiots"Charles J0 -

I would certainly have bought the DVD if the Led Zep set was included. As it is, I won't. And I'm not even a Led Zep fan, in particular. I just thought their performance of Stairway was magic on the day. Probably because it was live, natural and spontaneous. I liked everything about it.
By comparison the 'approved' live release of 'Song Remains the Same' is said to have been edited, amended and played around with to an incredible extent, which ruins it. I love live music but not post-produced live music. None of the Live Aid performances were 'perfect'. That's what makes them good. Led Zep are completely out of order by refusing to include their set.0
