Some great suggestions.
I'm not sure my 19 year old cat would welcome another one, especially if it tries to share her fleecy throw.
There seems to be quite a few suggestions as to good quality thermals so I will have a look round when I go into town.
I have arthritis in my hip and can't lift my right leg up to put tights on which is a nightmare as I am sure they would keep me warm.
Thanks for your replies and I will mention it when I go to the Drs.NSK Zombie # SFD 7/15 Food Bank £0/£5

How odd. My M&S ones do the job just fine.I'm with the other posters. Perhaps there is some medical reason. I suggest seeing your GP.What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

Interesting to read that anaemia causes you to be colder. I have been diagnosed as anaemic recently and am now taking iron tablets but I am always cold. I can be sitting with a sweater on, a hot water bottle and a sleeping bag and it still takes a while to get warm, and there my Husband will be sitting in his t-shirt saying its not cold lol.
I was beginning to wonder if I was following in certain family members footsteps and have thyroid trouble so Im pleased to know its possibly just the anaemia!
Sick of getting cold fingers though and purple nails, not pretty lol.

Hi honey
I have anaemia and have regular iron infusions as well as ferrous fumerate (sp) daily..I asked my consultant about being cold all the time and he said that this was a side effect of anaemia.
I find fingerless (sp) gloves work well and give my fingers support too.
Raynards causes purple fingers, toes/feet and I always have cold knees

Try doing some housework for 5-10min to get warmed up. You may find once you have warmed up a bit you'll be ok.0

Could you try upping your metabolic rate with a brisk walk round the block? - it will get your heart beating more actively and help circulate your blood out to your extremities:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

I'm always cold but find that if my hands and feet are warm, the rest of me soon catches up. So I will wear thick socks, or a pair of tights with socks (maybe more than 1) and then I have fingerless gloves (that my granny made about 20 years ago for) so that I can still use the laptop.
Must sympathise, I have had loads of layers on plus a sleeping bag and have still been really cold recently. Only had the heating on occassionally this week as OH has man flu plus we have a mountain of washing that I'm slowly trying to get dried!!0 -
Electric blanket for me (low blood pressure, poor circulation) plus, go and get a check up ...
Oh, and from October to April I'm perminantly in a hat. My hair knots up, but what the heck, I'm freezing without it.0 -

That's what I always do whenever I get too cold.
I know it's hard getting up and started but I always feel much better after a bout of exercise.
With the added bonus that I've got some chores done.
Must admit that I was always cold when I was younger but don't seem to suffer now.
I hope you find something that works for you.0 -
Hi,
I have a modurn flat with all the latest energy saving insulation but still my flat is freezing.
Do any of you lovely people have any tips on things I can do to stop my heat escaping and keeping my flat warm and toasty this winter?0
