Nooooooooooooooooooo! If someone did that to a nice homecooked meal I had just spent ages preparing I think I would have to sneak some chilli powder (extra hot) into their portion as revenge!!"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the

Have those pre-filled, pre-cooked, frozen jacket potatoes been mentioned? Think of the E-Numbers in them, plus cost.:j0

Funnily enough, when MIL visits, I just tell her she is 'here for a rest' and I'll do the cooking
At least I can eat then. Last time she was here (for 2 1/2 weeks) she, in conjunction with Mr TM made ONE meal - a fry up and it was almost totally inedible!!

Many jobs are 9-5 or 8-5, and I would usually get home at 5.30 if I left work at 5. What a peculiar question!
What about those who rely on public transport? I did a temping job a couple of weeks back and it was only about 5 miles away. I finished at 5pm, but didn't get back until 6.15pm. I had to wait twenty minutes for the bus, then the actual time on the bus, then fifteen minutes walk home from the bus stop.
Also extra time in the morning to get to the bus stop - it all adds onto the day and makes you feel more tired by the time you actually get home.0 -
I am a now single mum with a 15 year old and 9 year old. we dont do kids food never have done kids food to me is food that is put on table for them. I admit to buying bags of ice as my youngest has health problems and needs loads of it. Other than that I love fresh produce, meat, fish etc and its not hard to make a meal. My kids and I help each other after a hard day and it keeps us close. One sets table another peels veg whilst I start on meat or fish. we chat about our day and by the time the meal is cooked we are all relaxed and ready to sit at the table to enjoy our food and each others company nothing better at the end of a stressful day. To be honest I also batch cook so some nights its no trouble boiling up rice to go with a curry or chilli. On lazy nights we make pasta and it takes less time than some whing ding micro thing! each to their own .
First time I went to the States I was so shocked they had everything prepared for them and that was 15 years ago. Families were buying peeled apples , oranges and bananas not in fruit salads but ready peeled come on how hard is it to peel a banana or an apple, Taking the packaging off takes longer than removing the skin lol.
Anyway it seems there is a need for this kind of product and I suppose it is useful for employment must take a fair amount of staff who would inevitably be unemployed if there was no demand for ready made foods. Bad for you perhaps but is it bad for the economy?0 -
Ready peeled bananas ?
Now I have heard everything. As you say, what is faster than peeling a banana - nature's own pre-packed ready-to-go foods. I suppose the fact you say you saw it in the States says it all :wall:0 -
Its true ready peeled bananas it did amuse me though, The main reason it did that was my ex mother in law told me after the 2nd world war she was given her first banana and she ate it with the skin on, mind you she said it was awful lol0
-
LOL - my mum told me that too
However, the Americans may be one of the most insular nations on the planet, but even they must know how to peel a banana by now.

Maybe they need to see a therapist before they can peel a humble banana they all have one lol A therapist that is LOL0

I love that last line - personally whenever I desire "fresh banana appearance and fruit identity" I use a fresh banana and peel it myself!"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."
