  • I've recently opened two on-line accounts with ICICI (in November 05 and January 06) and the service has been remarkably prompt and efficient.
  • I can't log into my ICICI bank. It keeps telling me I have incorrect username and or pin. I phone the bank to tell them and they keep sending me more PINS none of which ever work! Luckily I only opened with £1. Anyone else had a similar problem?

Not exactly the same but an equally stupid and circular problem in that I cannot transfer money into the account. I log in, go to the 'move money' link or whatever it is, and when I go through the move-money-in routine I get a screen which says words to the effect of 'you have no linked accounts. Please write to the account manager.'

I do so and the reply is always to do the above. I write back saying this doesn't work and get the exact same reply.

If I'm lucky, that is. The last time I wrote ICICI failed to reply for 5 months and when I bo11ocked them they sent me....the same standard non-reply.

Fortunately I can get my money out so I have withdrawn the lot to A & L at the same interest rate.

I am surprised ML still endorses these clots, TBH. A & L are a vastly more efficient operation, and the fact that part of their deposit rate is a bonus is surely no grounds to demote them to second favourite behind a shower like ICICI.

It is fundamental MS doctrine that you revisit these products at frequent intervals because the providers intentionally worsen them once they have taken in enough deposits.

Yes with A & L you have to ditch and switch after a year or so, but quite frankly, you would and should be doing that anyway.

When in recent memory has any deposit account ever remained the leader for longer than a year? You'll be switching anyway so why does this count against A & L?

With all due respect, both links above are incorrect for the HiSAVE account.

The first has at least one 'ICICICICICICI' missing from the link. :-)

The second incorrectly uses '.com' instead of '.co.uk'

Try http://www.icicibank.co.uk and you should get a result. Despite their incompetence, which is caused by a total lack of thoroughness on the part of too many of their staff, I'm sure your money will still be there.
  • Is the 5.15% gross or net please?

;)Do It To Them Before They Do It To You ;)
  • Hi,
From the posts i have read about ICICI it looks like mixed responses about opening time and hassle. My transactions have taken a little while to complete but overall i am happy with the service. They have however managed to loose my login details once which was a bit worrying.

Erm - 5.15% is AER. Gross is 5.03%. (There's a difference because they credit interest monthly)
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries
