Please forgive my ignorance as I am new to the newspaper money off coupons.

My question is regarding the Saturday’s Daily Mail book of the month token.
 That one here: http://f.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2008/06_01/virginia_nicholson_voucher_405x620.gif

This token is worth £4.50!!! so if I go to my news agent and I buy say 20 Daily Mails
(20x0.70p=£14.00) I will have the equivalent of £90.00 free spending at Tesco (assuming that this coupon is accepted at Tesco).

So I could do my daily £10.00 shopping and pay only £1.00.

This is looks like too good to be real.

Is this token accepted at Tesco? If yes then this is like licence to print money.

In the past I have use minor coupons however I have never before come across on such a high value coupon.

I am missing something here? Could Tesco have left such a loophole open?Si Deus pro nobis quis contra nos?0
-
Does state that only one coupon can be used in any one transaction. Nice thought though!November wins...a book, a designer handbag (worth £550 :T) and a game. I am now an addict and thank everyone for taking the time to share and post. 0 0
-
Hmm ok. Only one £4.50 Daily Mail token per transaction.

However I know that Tesco is accepting two coupons. So you could use two different coupons.

The Express today have two £1.00 MOC’s so you cold use the Daily Mail coupon and the Express coupon for a total of £5.50 discount.

What on earth!! You could also buy the Mail and the Express with every transaction (except the first one) so potentially you could have all the coupons you wish for free.

You would only have to do smaller transactions spending and the result would be the same.

I don’t think that it will last for long, Tesco soon will pull off the plug.Si Deus pro nobis quis contra nos?0

I thought that Tesco had blocked the tills so they don't accept this coupon anymore. If I had known then what I know now . . .

This was discussed in yesterday's newspaper thread; you might want to look there for more info. I've never tried to pass off coupons at Tesco for something I wasn't buying, but apparently lots of people do and they have put a stop to people using the Daily Mail coupons as Tesco can't be reimbursed for these. You might still get one past as this is a new policy and not all staff may be aware of it, but you might not and would be stuck with a ridiculous number of Daily Mails for no reason.0
