    :hello: Anni,

I am so so sorry, hope I havent made you feel bad saying what I did.

    *hugs*

    Katie

Course you haven't Katie hun. :)

I wish I had a good dad but I know I don't. He's always been more interested in women and being abusive to both my mother and I. Just the way it is I guess. I didn't get him a card last year, or the year before that. I haven't got him a card since I was 14 I don't think but I think I will send one this year because A)Even though he's hurt me I don't want to hurt his feelings by not getting him one and B)Anything to shut him up. :rotfl:
I have very conflicted feelings about my family. Maybe I need more therapy for that, :rotfl:

LOL it so shouldnt be like that should it ...

I have a step-dad who I hate having to get a card for but if I didnt my Mum would give me hassle. He does !!!!!! all for me (or any of my sis's in fact) in terms of being a Dad and is a domineering bully. I really resent that card shops only offer ones banging on about You're Special Dad, You're the Best Dad etc. I dont know how he can accept them really without blushing to the core tbh

This year I havent got him any sort of present; last year he told my Mum he wanted a CD (£15) without even being prompted and I really couldnt afford it at the time and still cant (funny how I thought things would be sorted by now). My "real" always says he has everything he wants and not to waste money on buying into the hype

The card shops should do "To Dad on Fathers Day. Oh how you brighten up my life....haha....NOT!". :rotfl:
My dad expects me to be all "Omg like you're the best and most perfect dad ever". There's no way I'll ever say that, not even at his grave because it would be a lie.
I hate men who think that by bullying others it will make them powerful because it doesn't. It makes them look stupid and like an abusive idiot who likes to push others around.

Sounds like your real dad is a lot better than your step one hun. I don't have a step dad and thankfully my parents were never married. They split up when I was a baby, then got back together when I was about 3 and then split up permanently when I was 5. My dad's name isn't even on my birth certificate - only my mum's is. I don't have a good relationship with my mother either. They both abused me. As did my nan and the rest of my family but hey, I couldn't choose my family, and I like to think that my friends are my family now. If I was ever in trouble, it would be my friends I would be running too, not my family.

I'm only getting my dad a card, no present.lol. I'm not made of money and I know he'd expect some lavish £100 gift and I don't have that sort of money and if I bought him a present that cost less he would toss it away like it was nothing so a card is all he'll be getting.lol.

    xx

    hi,
welcome to cholly, lan and uni.

alba...i hope that grass is cut by now:D ...i was toying with the idea of a goat as the "green" option as we are used to large pets:rotfl: ....but maybe more trouble than its worth /its weight in grass:D

lm....im really pleased about karl and it really cheered me up so good luck.i hope it all works out for you.sounds like a very nice guy....re the card, either dont send one(which is what id do), or buy a really cheap and nasty one.think he would get the message by now, but some ppl are either thick skinned or try to manipulate others in anyway they can.

topd....i see your dad prob as well.you are torn b/ween hating dad but pleasing mum at same time.id opt for second op, iykwim and send the card to please your mum, but no pressie cos you cant afford it and its the thought that counts, right???

wish tulip and cholly a good physch visit...think it was cholly who was
goin as well.i could be wrong...its been known:rotfl:
