0845 & 0870 Numbers
Im a new memeber here & was hoping someone could help me out with my orange mobile contract as it is coming to an end.
I currently get 120 minutes a month with Orange for £15 but every time I get my bill I see any calls Ive made to 0845 or 0870 numbers dont come out of my enclusive minutes.
Are all providers like this because as it currently stands I am only using approx half my enclusive minutes but am being charged for approx another 60 just so I can do my banking by phone while I am at work.

Yep, it looks like Orange only let you use your minutes for calling geographical numbers, ie 0207,0121 etc and not these non-geographical numbers.
Its the same with 3, they recently changed it so that calls to 0845 and 0870 are charged and not part of you free minutes.
you can try to look up some geographical numbers on https://www.saynoto0870.com -some companies have 'normal' numbers that they don't advertise.0 -
Have a look at the site https://www.saynoto0870.com for alternative numbers to 0845/0870,loads listed especially banking.
The only provider that allows you to call 0845/0870 out of your inclusive minutes is o2.PF.0 -
If you're handset is unlocked you could get a free o2 sim from here http://smartpromo.o2.co.uk/form.php and if you then select the "SIM Online Pay as you Go 'Talkalot with Calls and Messages' tariff " and top-up by £10 each month you will get a free monthly allowance of 100 anytime anyone minutes which you can use for messages as well as calls as 1 text is equivalent to 1 minute of call time. You will be able to use your free allowance for 0845/0870 numbers and once you've used your allowance you will still have your £10 of credit to use. This is going to work out a lot cheaper than your present Orange tariff but as it's PAYG you won't get itemised bills. You can keep your existing number and if something better comes along you can move again taking your number with you as you won't be tied to a 12 month contract.scotty069 wrote:Im a new memeber here & was hoping someone could help me out with my orange mobile contract as it is coming to an end.

Whilst 0870 are inclusive on their contracts , and obviously allowed on PAYG as part of the actual credit ( not sure of the rate though- might be high?) are they really also included in the 100 minutes allowance on their PAYG sims- it would surprise meAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0

I think you may be right payless - I should have researched it beforehand. I presumed that 0845/0870 would be included as it states that included calls are to any network including O2 and fixed landlines. I've just found the following on the o2 website in the FAQ for the online tariffs:-
What phone numbers are not included in my call bundle?
Premium rate numbers, International and Roaming calls, and numbers starting 0906, 0845 and 0870 are not included in your cal bundle.
Sorry, what a shame though.0 -
Although thats strange/ worrying, as that FAQ appaers to apply to both contract and PAYG, and I know I'm getting incluisve 0870 on my contract ( up til last month at least)Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0

I think it is the o2 online tariffs that do not include 0870/0845 in inclusive minutes.
Non-online o2 contracts do, the main reason I always try and keep an o2 contract
Oh, and the free ITS on the o2 200 tariff.
Cheers, Des.0 -
o2 online tariffs do include 0845 / 0870 in the free allowance (at least mine does - online 200) oh and i get free ITS too
