I hate this new feedback system

I hate the new feedback system too. I predominately sell and find now that people expect too much and will happily leave neutral or negative just to spite cos they know you cant do the same! Most of the silly sods cant read your terms and conditions and try to get their own way after a sale.
I do not take paypal as for one, i dont think i should pay to receive my money for goods, secondly people abuse the system and get automatic refunds taken directly from monies seized in your account. In one case i had transfereed the money and they reversed it! I think they have too much power. I am not a dodgy seller and pride myself on giving good value and service.
i will say though that when they introduced compulsory paypal payments a few weeks ago, i complained to the helplie. Turns out so did many others and they changed it.
I will give an example of how that can and could be abused. Guy has friends who cant make a gig last minute, puts them on ebay as BUY IT NIW with meeting at gig for pick up. Buyer pays with paypal meets up gets the tickets, goes to the show. Then files a dispute to say never got tickets. The guy cannot prove he passed them on, case closed paypal will refund the buyer. So he gets to go for free. It does happen, same if you dont use trackable post.
Ok rant over.
Trouble is they have a bloody monopoly....0 -
I think a lot of the sellers tend to forget a little what it's like to be a buyer - I, as a newbie to ebay (I managed to buy my first thing the other month...go me!), can kinda see where the buyer in the OP was coming from. Yes, sure, you did everything you could to help them - but how do they really know that? Could have been you just didn't post it for two weeks, could have been that you were trying to pull a fast one...who knows. Yes, you've emailed them, but why should they trust what you say?
From their point of view, all they care about is that *for whatever reason* they didn't get their thing for best part of two weeks, which just isn't very good. So, purely thinking as a noob, you're faced with, apparently, 3 options - neg, neutral or positive - which you'll think of as 0%, 50% or 100% - now, it seems a little wrong to give someone a score of 100% when it took two weeks arrive. So you select the 50%, meaning no strong feeling either way. Clearly, as you guys discuss, getting a "neutral" can now be pretty poor for sellers, but I think that's just because this new feedback thing's (as the title suggests) stupid, I don't think it's really the buyer's fault...Or am I missing something?0 -
They haven't reversed the compulsory paypal though, as from 3rd June all auctions must have paypal enabled.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I can relate to how you feel-If i was the customer I would be grateful for the contact and for the replacement and it would have been a glowing feedback with a positive off course but some buyers either do not understand, care or just like to take advantage of the new feedback system.
This is what happened to me a few days days ago-sold a brand new with tags bag, posted it during my lunch hour recorded delivery on monday even though I always explain in my description that my posting day is thursday(my day off) (because the ebayer with 4 feedback and twice changed i.d in 2 weeks kept asking as it was a gift for her sis), this ebayer even emailed twice to request postage on sunday and kept pestering me for feedback.Once I knew she had the item I left positive feedback with a nice comment, in return I got a petty neg with claims that the bag was full of food crumbs! The bag was in perfect pristine condition.Despite the neg I emailed her politely to ask why she had done so and this person responded with abusive emails twice.I left follow up feedback and again recieved a nasty retaliatory remark accusing me of deciet and abuse!
As a buyer I have received positive feedback accusing me of deceit and abuse - neither of which was true - but I think that others reading the feedback will realise that the Seller is just trying to save face when they were the ones who made a mistake one way or another
The last one was a Seller whom I paid and was refunded within 12 hours - she wanted more money for the item in question. I got no explanation, nothing, then she leaves that nasty feedback.

I wonder how many buyers realise that most first class post does not arrive in one working day?
Sometimes it takes three or four days for first class mail to reach me, even letters, never mind parcels.
It is time that the buyers allowed the Seller leeway when it is clearly out of their hands as soon as the parcel has been mailed out.
If only they looked at the date stamp on the parcel before leaving negative/neutral/derogatory feedback for the Seller.0 -
My despatch stars have just gone up to 4.8% yet I have done nothing different at all..so it shows it is all down to the particular buyers as to whether they think something has been sent quickly or not.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I had 4 items end last saturday, posted everything 1st class recorded on monday, entered the tracking on paypal etc, one buyer email me yesterday and today asking where her item is, accusing me of being a liar since 1st class recorded should take 1 working day and saying that if it isn't with her by tomorrow she'll neg me and start a paypal dispute.
I've apologised for the slowness of royal mail, offered her that items can take up to 14 days before RM will consider it missing and even offered to photograph the stamped and dated recorded slip with her name and address on but haven't received a reply to that one yet. Only 1 of the recorded items are showing as delivered but I have positive feedback for 3 so no idea where hers is! Get the feeling she's going to get neg happy unless I refund her.....0 -

Maybe you should direct her to the thread on here about RM delays due to Summer Savings:

If you mean 'respond to feedback received' a comment by you under your neutral, this is still possible.
It is at the bottom left hand side of the feedback page..0
